Finale part 2 of The Voice season 26 was released on December 10, 2024, on NBC. The episode saw the five finalists giving stellar performances alongside their coaches. While Michael Bublé performed with his two finalists Shye and Sofronio Vasquez, Snoop Dogg performed with Jeremy Baloate and Reba McEntire went on stage with Danny Joseph. Gwen Stefani sang with Sydney Sterlace.

Gwen and Sydney performed Wild World by the British pop artist Cat Stevens, now known as Yusuf Islam. Before going in for their live performance, Gwen expressed sadness over the fact that she didn't have a daughter when she always wanted one, as she had 3 sons. She was happy to have Sydney because she saw her as her daughter.

Gwen also said that the song was an opportunity for them to have fun together on the stage. Fans of The Voice flocked to X to react to this performance. Some said Sydney outdid Gwen, while others praised the duo.

"It really shows how much talent Sydney has when she's actually outdoing Gwen on the vocals. Of course, Gwen is more of a showman than a great vocalist so I don't know if that is saying much," said one fan.
"Ok, ok! I really enjoyed Sydney and Gwen’s performance. I’m not even a big fan of the original song lol. They sounded good together," another said.
"Sydney and Gwen sounded so good together! Loved that duet," added a third.
"I wanna say this Sydney and Gwen performance is so good and excellent job Sydney Sterlace," another wrote.

Fans of The Voice also complimented the chemistry the duo shared.

"Sydney Sterlace singing a duet with Gwen Stefani, them trading off lines, so cute, and a good fit for their voices, enjoyable," an X user commented.
"This is a great song. Sydney sounds better than Gwen. Gwen is making this a happy song, which it is not," another commented.
"Love this song Gwen and Sydney are doing," wrote one.
"Sydney and Gwen!! Killing this duet!!" another wrote.

Gwen Stefani's mishap while singing with Sydney Sterlace on The Voice season 26 finale

Gwen and Sydney's performance on The Voice season 26 Finale part 2 wasn't the full picture of what went down behind the scenes. An eyewitness present at the NBC show studio told The U.S. Sun that Gwen flubbed the lyrics because she was nervous during her Wild World performance.

She did this while reportedly reading the lyrics from the telepromter. After missing out on the timing about 20 seconds into the performance, the star flubbed the lyrics and walked off the stage, recollected herself, and came back. The crew of The Voice, adhering to the situation, quickly reset the track and the lights. Then, Gwen gave it another go.

"Though it was relatively low-stakes given it's pre-recorded, Gwen was very on edge and shaky at first. She looked really, really nervous before performing which most likely led to the mistake. She was able to recover well though".

While Gwen had walked off, Sydney remained on stage waiting for her mentor to return. After they gave a second shot, they also went in for a third take, which was reportedly the flawless version aired in the finale part 2 of the season.
