“Overdramatic”— Below Deck Sailing Yacht fans criticize Danni for crying over Daisy’s “tacky” comment

Season 5 of Below Deck Sailing Yacht has already reached episode 3, which was released on October 21 on Bravo. The episode documented a rough sail that caused bottles of liquor to crash and break across the boat. It also featured Chef Cloyce getting into an argument about splitting the bill, though he eventually came around.

Additionally, the episode documented a moment when Stew Danni started crying after receiving a comment from Chief Stew Daisy about the way she had decorated the table. Daisy called the decor "tacky," which upset Danni, as she had put time and effort into it. The comment got Danni worried about her potential, she said she had anxiety about it.

When Danni expressed her frustration, Daisy apologized and asked her to pretend she didn't say anything. She added that when she said "tacky," she just meant "over the top." Fans of Below Deck Sailing Yacht took to X to comment on the interaction. One fan on X tweeted:

What happened between Daisy and Danni in episode 3 of Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5?

In episode 3, Danni went up to Daisy and told her how nervous she felt about her name being associated with something "tacky." When Daisy asked her to stop freaking out because she was already in the season, Danni expressed that it was hard for her because she had anxiety.

She said she couldn't stop thinking about it because she was passionate about decorating the table, but then Daisy called it tacky. Daisy said she would never call her out on her work, but in a Below Deck SailingYacht confessional she said:

"I'm so confused. What the f*ck"

She sat Danni down and reassured her, saying she was doing amazing. Danni said she was asked to do something and she did it correctly, then when someone called it tacky, it felt frustrating. Daisy asked her to pretend she said nothing.

Explaining further, Daisy asked Danni to imagine the American 4th of July and how "super all out" they go with the decorations. That's what she meant when she said tacky. In the Below Deck Sailing Yacht confessional, Daisy said that at least that meant Danni cared, but it also meant that she was sensitive, so she was going to have to watch her words ahead.
