“Oxymoron” - Love & Marriage: Huntsville fans criticize Melody’s argument with Maurice

Love & Marriage: Huntsville season 9 episode 8 was aired on December 21. Titled Stirring the Pot Over Drinks, the episode saw the second part of Tricia's kid's graduation party. It documented Melody aka Mel, questioning her ex-brother-in-law Maurice about his DUI and stating her opinions on it.

She said his DUI was irresponsible and disappointing and that his response to it the day after it happened should've been more appropriate.

On Love & Marriage: Huntsville, she brought up her grandmother's death and said that a drunk driver took her so it was a sensitive topic for her.

This started a chain of back-and-forths between Mel and Maurice, where the latter asked Mel not to talk without knowing what happened. He accused her of projecting her negativity onto him, while she denied doing that.

Fans of Love & Marriage: Huntsville came to X to criticize Mel for talking down to Maurice about his DUI.

"Montage of Melody Interrogating Everyone About Maurice! But barely gave any of the lipstick energy in person. Melody is definitely a Oxymoron IDC IDC I said what I said!" said one fan.

"Yall really mad that Mel is holding Maurice's feet to the fire about the DUI and how careless he was about it even the next day. Let that had been Mel getting a DUI and it would've been the "told you so" moment of the season," said another.

"Mel is deflecting like her life depends on it. Why not say the same thing to Kimmi about Maurice and the so called lipstick like she did with Tisha and Tricia," added a third.

"I do think Maurice is a clown for driving drunk. But Mel is an unhappy mean girl. For all that “healing” talk. She don’t move like a healed person," another wrote.

Fans of Love & Marriage: Huntsville called Melody "messy" and someone who trash-talked and criticized her for that.

"Melody know she don’t care about Maurice. She is just trying to pry and messy," an X user wrote.

"I’m tired of Melody. She’s trash-talking and questioning the town about Maurice and when Kimmie steps to her one on one, she don’t want to talk, she owes no explanation, she quiet. Fake as a mug," another X user wrote.

"Melody is so lame. You had no problem running Huntsville telling anyone that would listen about Maurice’s situation, yet now have you the opportunity to chop it up his wife, you wanna play quiet. Dingbat *ss," commented one.

"Mel is trying to assume the upper hand in the conversation by not explaining why she went around talking about Maurice but we all know it’s gossiping," another wrote.

Melody and Maurice's argument in Love & Marriage: Huntsville season 9 episode 8

In the previous episodes of Love & Marriage: Huntsville, Melody questioned Maurice's wife, Kimmie, and his sister-in-law, LaTisha, about his DUI.

While talking to Latisha, she also pointed out the red on Maurice's lips in his mugshot from the day, implying it was a lady's lipstick.

While talking to Maurice at Tricia's kid's graduation party, she didn't bring up the red lipstick so some of the fans also criticized her for not being truthful enough.

After Maurice criticized her for accusing him without knowing the complete details, Mel thought he was being defensive and added that it was especially surprising because Maurice was the more level-headed one and the one she used to take life advice from.

He interrupted her saying she never took advice from him, which she denied. He also said she was attacking his character, an accusation she didn't accept either.
