"PISSED me off"— Below Deck Sailing Yacht fans react to Daisy questioning Gary's attempt not to drink

Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5 aired episode 11, titled, Much Ado About Crushing, this week on Monday, December 16, 2024. The segment featured First Mate, Gary King acknowledging that he may have a problem with alcohol.

As Daisy and Gary spoke about the upcoming crew night out, the male cast member told Daisy that he wasn't going to drink. Although Daisy stated she was "fully behind" him if he was trying to change, she didn't see it "lasting very long."

Fans of the Bravo reality show commented on Daisy's statements about Gary trying to monitor his drinking and criticized her for being negative. One person wrote on X:

"I've offended a few people"— Gary King reflects on behavior whilst under the influence of alcohol in Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5 episode 11

In Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5 episode 11, titled, Much Ado About Crushing, Gary King spoke to new Deckhand Chase Lemacks about some of the previous crew nights.

Gary said the Below Deck Sailing Yacht crew went out most of their free nights. Chase further asked Gary if he got "wasted" and the First Mate said he got "too f*cked." He said typically his mouth would get "worse" after a few drinks.

"It seems like I've offended a few people in this boat already," he said.

The Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5 cast member said it had been "tough." Later in the episode, during the crew meeting after the end of the charter, Gary refused a glass of champagne as the group celebrated their success. When the cast was getting ready for a night out, Gary and Daisy were getting ready in the same cabin.

Daisy asked the cast member how he thought the upcoming outing was going to be and asked if he was going to be on his "best behavior." Gary told the chief stew he was not going to drink and Daisy laughed. He reminded her that he didn't drink the champagne either and the latter asked if it was the "new" Gary.

"So you're just not going to drink for the rest of the season?" Daisy questioned.

He said he wouldn't drink since he offended people after drinking and stated it wasn't something he wanted to do. He told the cameras that he believed he was "very different" when he was drunk and didn't think alcohol was his "friend." He said he used alcohol as an "escape" and reevaluated his relationship with the substance.

Daisy told the cameras she "fully" supported the Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5 cast member if he was "genuinely trying to grow and change." However, she said that she didn't think the change would last long.

Fans of the reality show commented on Daisy's statements online and were unhappy with her being negative about Gary trying to change.
