“Play boyyy”- Love is Blind: Germany fans criticize Tolga for telling the men he felt “suffocating” with Shila

Love is Blind: Germany became yet another version to adorn the franchise's extensive library, which includes versions from Brazil, Japan, and Sweden, among others. It premiered on January 4 with the first four episodes, seeing the couples customarily being introduced to each other, falling for each other, proposing, and then advancing to the honeymoon phase.

Episode 4 of the season documented the couples going on their honeymoon, where they also met up with the other couples in the later half of the episode. Tolga and Shila were one of the six couples on the honeymoon, they got together after Tolga chose her over Hannah as he envisioned a better future with her.

While on a honeymoon with her though, Tolga said in a confessional that Shila was a different person than what he assumed her to be in the pods. He said she wasn't as independent or career-oriented as he thought after their conversation about her cooking for him. When he met with the men, he told them he wasn't comfortable with her and felt "suffocating" in the relationship. Shila, on the other hand, had only positives to say about Tolga to her female friends.

Fans of Love is Blind: Germany came to X to criticize Tolga for speaking badly about Shila to his friends.

"Tolga you play boyyyy," a fan said.

"Tolga told the men that he's not happy and Shila is smothering him," said another fan.

"While Shila is gushing over Tolga's blue green eye color to the women at the honeymoon, he is complaining that he's not comfortable to the men," added another.

"Also I knew tolga would be a f*ckboi lmfao SHILA RUN," another wrote.

Some fans of Love is Blind: Germany didn't think Tolga and Shila were going to last.

"I don't trust Tolga. I fear that he is not going to be able to handle Shila," an X user wrote.

"Tolga, I know what you are!" another user wrote.

"He hates her already," commented one.

"I don’t like Tolga LMAO. Mans out here acting like these women went to war for him. Calm all the way down sir," another wrote.

What happened with Tolga and Shila on Love is Blind: Germany episode 4?

In Love is Blind: Germany episode 4, Tolga said that he liked a woman who could stand up for herself and one who you can argue with. He then called himself and Shila a "toxic couple". He said he liked "fire" in his relationship and told Shila that he didn't think there would be a time they wouldn't fight.

They went for dinner later in the episode, where Shila took to a Love is Blind: Germany confessional to say she felt like a teenager again, with butterflies in her stomach. She told Tolga he was "very lucky" because she would cook for him one day. Tolga said she would "have to". He then said:

"So this is what marriage feels like or the idea of marriage, like prison."

His statement shocked Shila who looked at him with her mouth wide open. He further stated that the Shila he met in the pods, the "tough career woman" who couldn't open up as easily, wasn't her anymore. Later in the episode, Tolga acknowledged the fact that he made Shila sad because he was dating other women in the pods.

Then at the couples' mixer, Shila told her girl-friends that she liked Tolga's "blue-green eyes". Tolga, on the other hand, told his guy friends that things were very difficult for him and that he didn't feel comfortable in his relationship. He added:

"So suffocating. It constantly feels like I have a hand around my throat. I can't breathe."

He stated that he was supposed to be happy but "absolutely" wasn't. Some of his friends advised him to make the hard decision, while others suggested he give a few more days to his relationship.
