"Please chill"— Below Deck Mediterranean fans criticize Ellie for complaining about not being at Captain Sandy’s proposal

Below Deck Mediterranean wrapped up another season this week on Monday, September 23, 2024. Season 9 episode 17 marked the end of the installment and saw Captain Sandy propose to her girlfriend, Leah Shafer.

Earlier in the season, the captain had enlisted Aesha Scott to help make the moment special and in the season finale, Aesha asked some of the cast members to help with the set up and Ellie wasn't one of them. The cast member, who was in disagreement with the chief stew, was let down and felt excluded.

Fans commented on Ellie's reaction to Aesha picking Joe, Gael, and Carrie, instead of her. Many netizens criticized Ellie for the same, with one user writing on X:

In Below Deck Mediterranean season 9 finale, titled Happily Ever Aft, Aesha Scott picked three cast members to help with the preparations for Captain Sandy's proposal to Leah.

Second stew Ellie Dubaich, who was in charge of things while Aesha was away, was unhappy about not being included. While in conversation with the cameras, Ellie said:

"I am definitely feeling down."

She stated that it would have been such an honor for her to be picked to participate in Captain Sandy's proposal. The Below Deck Mediterranean season 9 cast member added that she felt that all the work she had done had been for "nothing." She spoke about the same to the other crew members who stayed back, including Bri, Nathan, Iain, and Johnathan.

Ellie stated that she was going to "flip out" if they had done the decorations without her. She added that she felt Aesha favored Carrie over her and said that the newcomer was supposed to help the cast, not replace them.

Nathan, who disagreed with Ellie, wondered whether she was upset about the lack of attention she was getting. In a confessional, he wondered whether the Below Deck Mediterranean star was being "bitter" and "spiteful" and said that not everything was about Ellie.
