Love After Lockup season 5 made it to episode 43 on October 18. The episode titled Ring & Run! saw Louie buying a $18.5k ring for Melissa. It also saw Joey going for a job interview, Zeruiah getting suspicious of Troy's loyalty, and Brittany getting officially denied to go to Texas.
Things weren't too well in Michael and Justine's household either. He had a breakdown after dealing with one of his eight children who broke his $1500 iPhone just because he was mad. Michael was so riled up with his son's actions that he too punched a hole in the wall before walking out of the house.
In a Love After Lockup confessional, he said that he was mad about having to work and not getting to chase his dreams. He was also upset with Justine considering a high-risk pregnancy.

Fans of Love After Lockup came to X to criticize Michael for his destructive behavior, especially when he was mad at his kid for destroying his phone in anger.
"First of all, why do these kids have those expensive phones. Secondly, Why would Michael start punching walls as he's chastising his sons? What a poor example of how to resolve conflicts. Prison can do that to a man, I guess," one fan wrote.

After reprimanding Justine's son Santannah for breaking his $1500 iPhone, Michael walked out of the room. But before he did so, he punched a hole in the wall. In a Love After Lockup confessional, he said he worked too hard to buy him the phone and the latter broke it in a fit of rage.
He said he was going to take the TVs off their walls as a punishment. He added that he was mad because everything wasn't as easy as he wanted it to be and that stress got to him.
In a confessional, Justine said that it was taking him a long time to move on from his "incarcerated personality," and that he had "no control". She added that they needed to teach the kids how to effectively communicate to repel such incidents. Michael then plucked out the TVs from the bedrooms of the kids as he promised.
