The Challenge season 40 aired a brand new episode this week on Wednesday, November 6, 2024. The segment saw the cast compete individually after the eras dissolved in the previous episode. As part of the show's latest twist, it brought back the purge during the daily challenge. This meant whoever finished last during the daily challenge would be eliminated from the show.
While Kyland and Tori finished first, Nehemiah and Laurel finished last and were eliminated from the show. However, towards the end of the task, Laurel called the task torturous and claimed she wanted to go home, seemingly quitting the show. Fans of the show reacted to Laurel's elimination from the show and felt the contestant pretended to quit:
"Laurel pretending to quit when she came in last place is something else."
"She quit, but was also going to be the clear loser. It was over either way," a fan commented.
"Highly disappointed in Laurels attitude (surprise, surprise), she's a champ but QUITS because she's too hot?! Theo was a big letdown as well, horrible taste in women and let a flimsy relationship turn him into a BUM!" a tweet read.
Fans of The Challenge: Battle of the Eras fans reacted to Laurel Stucky throwing a "tantrum."
"So Laurel has been avoiding eliminations, calling the girls weak, saying she would win a lot if she was on her own, and yet got purged cause she had a whole tantrum," a person wrote.
"guy who watched All Stars and thought Laurel was one of the best to ever do it after dodging elims and getting a free ride to final," a fan commented.
Fans of The Challenge further said:
"Laurel is kind of an a** for giving one of her biggest allies a 1 rating. Great friend. It didn’t even have any bearing on her game. Make it make sense," a person wrote.
"Laurel can't run for as long as the other top players. Laurel can't do the memory portion without throwing a fit. Laurel can't handle the heat. Can't. Can't. Can't. This is Varsity Competition," a fan commented.
"Laurel was purged out in a mini-final against layups Michelle/Olivia, an asthmatic Jenny, and an injured Aviv. Karma is coming for her quickly," a tweet read.
"I'm done"— Laurel Stucky says she wants to go home during The Challenge Battle of the Eras episode 12
In The Challenge season 40 episode 12, the remaining contestants competed in a mini-final as their daily challenge, which was also a purge. As per the format, the players who finished last during the daily challenge were eliminated, followed by one more person, who lost the elimination task.
During the daily challenge, titled, Duned, the contestants had to race through checkpoints and each checkpoint required them to do a task. As part of the first checkpoint, they had to find a key buried under the sand. At the second checkpoint, The Challenge: Battle of the Eras players had to unlock paddle boards.
The Challenge contestants had to paddle board down a river and run up a hill to reach checkpoint number 3. The final checkpoint required them to complete a memory and make their way to the finish line.
While Kyland and Tori finished the race first individually, Nehemiah and Laurel finished last. Towards the end of the episode 12 competition, Laurel stated she didn't want to continue.
"I'm done, I want to go home. This is not something I want to do anymore," she said.
Nehemiah chimed in on Laurel's decision in a confessional. He said that although he hadn't competed with Laurel on The Challenge for a few years, he knew when she had her mind made up.
"I am peacing the f*ck out. This is actually torture so I do not want to be tortured," she told the cameras.
The Challenge fans reacted to the segment online and felt Laurel pretended to quit because she was going to finish last during the mini-final and get eliminated anyway.
