Kristin Cavallari, the American television personality and fashion designer, recently opened up about how she was "very thin" during her “unhappy marriage” to Jay Cutler. On Tuesday, June 11, 2024, the 37-year-old appeared in an episode of her Let’s Be Honest podcast.
Replying to a fan about her slimmed-down look while she was filming the television series Very Cavallari, the reality star said,
"I'll put it in perspective for you guys. I'm 5'3". I currently weigh 114 pounds. Filming Very Cavallari, I got down to 102, and I was eating the same amount of food that I'm eating now. The difference was, I was so unhappy and so stressed out."
Very Cavallari ran from 2018 to 2020 and focused on Kristin as she faced challenges in maintaining a work-life balance.
Kristin Cavallari says she was 'skin and bones' during her marriage to Jay Cutler
Kristin Cavallari first met her former husband and Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler in 2010 while she was visiting Chicago with her mother. The pair tied the knot on June 7, 2013, and announced their divorce in 2020.
On Tuesday, Kristin Cavallari posted an episode of Let’s Be Honest where she shared her experience of her marriage with Jay. The Laguna Beach alum answered questions from fans in a segment and revealed that she weighed 102 pounds at the time.
"I look back at photos from that time period and I am like, ‘Holy sh*t!’ I was rail f*cking thin. I was skin and bones. I looked like sh*t. I think I look so much better now. And you guys, that was just stress. That was being in a really unhappy marriage, quite honestly. Literally, I was so unhappy and I had way too much on my plate," Cavallari said.
Kristin Cavallari and Jay Cutler welcomed their first child, Camden, in 2012. Jaxon and Saylor joined their family in 2014 and 2015. The reality star also spoke about having "way too much" on her plate but said she makes time to work out.
"I was so unhappy that I was just trying to max out. But I also wasn't lifting heavy weights like I am now, too. But that was stress. But now, I'm just taking care of myself in so many more ways too. I think with the gym, it's consistency. It's just showing up for yourself. And listen, if I'm really busy and I only work out two to three times a week, fine."
The former NFL star and Kristin Cavallari announced their divorce in an Instagram post in 2020 after 10 years together. The pair said the reason for the separation was "just the situation of two people growing apart." They shared a joint statement at the time, saying,
"With great sadness after 10 years together we have come to a loving conclusion to get a divorce. We have nothing but love and respect for one another and are deeply grateful for the years shared, memories made, and the children we are so proud of. This is just the situation of two people growing apart."
The Hills alum has since moved on and is currently dating Montana Boyz member Mark Estes.
