"Rubina, I'm so sorry"— Big Brother star Tucker discusses the AI Instigator twist comments

Big Brother season 26 aired episode 21 on Thursday, August 29, 2024. The segment saw Tucker Des Lauriers get evicted from the show after getting five votes while Angela only got three.

Earlier in the show, America voted Tucker to be the AI Instigator, and one of the first things he did as the instigator was out his showmance with Rubina. Tucker used a deep fake of Quinn and said the houseguests should have gotten Rubina out when they had the chance, as it would have weakened Tucker mentally.

The Big Brother season 26 contestant spoke to Parade Magazine about why he made those comments. He explained that he wanted to put the target back on Quinn and to "ease the pressure" off of him and Rubina.

"Rubina, I'm so sorry that you got sad during that. That was not my intention whatsoever. That was the hardest thing to do in this house. But it was also very hard to keep that secret going," Tucker added.

He added that there was "a lot of mental strain" in the Big Brother season 26 house and "strategizing." Tucker stated that he wanted him and Rubina to be themselves when they wanted.

"Showmances get targeted": Big Brother season 26 talks about his relationship with Rubina

While talking to the publication, Tucker said that after he used the AI Instigator twist to talk about him and Rubina, it didn't work out well for the first few days. However, it got better after.

"Showmances get targeted. But I knew all those targets wouldn't really do to her, they would go to me," he said.

The Big Brother season 26 contestant said he was ready to be Rubina's "human shield" and that the other houseguests "broke the human shield." While talking about his eviction, he said he did it to himself and found a little "relief" in it. He said that he was "ready to run it back."

Tucker also shared his thoughts on the cast members and while talking about Rubina, he described her as "cute as a button." He added that Rubina was an "amazing person," a lovely human being, and "incredibly strong and independent."

"Needs to trust herself a little more, and she'll witness," he added.

Tucker also described the other houseguests. He called Quinn a "snake" and said he was "ungrateful." However, he praised the Big Brother season 26 contestant and said he was probably "the most thought-out player" in the house. He added that Quinn was untrustworthy but a great competitor.

He said Angela was "crazy, unloyal, and paranoid," Cam was "smooth and steady," while Chelsie was observant and calculated. While talking about Joseph, he said the Big Brother season 26 cast member was hilarious and smart. As per Tucker, Kimo was "a bundle of joy and very observant."

He called Leah "sneaky" and said that Makensy was good at adapting and a "competitor." He also praised T'Kor, who was the HoH when he was evicted.

"My artist buddy! She's shy, a little afraid to play the game, for what it's worth. But she is so creative and talented," Tucker stated.

The evicted cast member spoke about his relationship with Rubina while talking to Julie Chen Moonves after his elimination. He said he had never met someone like her and that she was an amazing person.

Tucker said it would be "really hard" not to see her for a while but that he would be watching the show and rooting for her.

Tucker became the 6th person to be eliminated from Big Brother season 26. Others who were evicted before him were Matt, Lisa, Kenney, Cedric, and Brooklyn.

Big Brother season 26 will return to screens this Sunday, September 1, 2024, and will officially mark the beginning of Week 7 in the house.
