"Shady"— Love After Lockup fans react to Shonta not letting True accompany her to an ultrasound appointment

Love After Lockup season 5 aired a brand new episode on Friday, September 13, 2024. The segment saw Shonta and True navigate their relationship after the latter found out Shonta was pregnant. The female cast member had an upcoming ultrasound appointment but didn't want True to accompany her.

She told him she was not ready to share that part of the experience with him. him but later got upset that she had to get the ultrasound alone. Love After Lockup fans reacted to the segment online and were critical of Shonta's behavior in episode 38. One person wrote on X:

Love After Lockup fans chimed in on Shonta not getting the ultrasound.

"If Shonta wanted Tru to be there during the ultra sound- why didn’t she call him and tell him to walk over to the office?" a person wrote.

Love After Lockup season 5 fans believed Shonta lied about the pregnancy.

"Shonta lying that’s she’s pregnant to manipulate True and to stay on this show and get paid (they’re on next season) and this will inevitably end up in a “miscarriage” at some point. Then she’ll find a new scam to stay on the show," a person wrote.

Shonta tells True he can't come to her ultrasound appointment in Love After Lockup season 5

In Love After Lockup season 5 episode 38, Shonta tells True about her upcoming ultrasound appointment. She told him that while he could accompany her to the clinic, she didn't want him to be a part of the appointment. She told him she didn't think they were "there yet."

She recalled True telling her the previous night that he was still seeing other people so she didn't know if he was going to be around in the future.

"You can still leave any time you want to so I don't want to sit here and experience stuff with you," she said.

In a confessional, the Love After Lockup season 5 star explained she was taking it one day at a time with True. She added that when she let True stay over the previous night, they didn't get physically intimate despite sharing a bed.

Shonta told True that if and when they were in a "better place," she would consider letting him come to her appointments with her. True told the Love After Lockup star he was only going to let her do it "one time" and that he wanted to accompany her in the future.

Shonta asked him why he thought he could tell her what to do and said that they needed to "reach that place" where she would allow him to be a part of her appointments. Later in the episode, True waited for Shonta in the car while she went to get her ultrasound. However, she opened up about feeling lonely and didn't get it done.

Fans criticized Shonta for telling True he couldn't come and then not getting the procedure done because she felt lonely.
