"She deserved better"— Love Island fans react to Samantha’s elimination

Love Island UK season 11 aired a new episode this week on Tuesday, June 18, 2024. The segment saw yet another recoupling ceremony during which Samantha Kenny found herself without a partner, thus ending her journey on the show.

Samantha's elimination came right after her partner, Joey Essex switched partners and made a connection with Grace Jackson. In Monday's episode, after a quarrel with Samantha, Joey and Grace kissed while on the daybeds, which left Samantha in tears.

Love Island fans took to social media to react to the elimination and were upset by the decision. One person wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter):

What happened in Love Island's recoupling ceremony tonight?

In Tuesday's episode of Love Island UK season 11, the cast members indulged in another recoupling. The cast members chose their new partners and the last one standing single, was sent home.

When it was Grace's turn to pick a partner, she said she and the boy of her choice had something on the outside. The Love Island UK star added that it was really special that she and him were able to "rekindle" their relationship and chose Joey Essex.

"I just enjoy being around him and he makes me happy, so it has made this decision quite easy for me," Grace added.

Omar was the last male cast member to choose a partner and his choices were Samantha or Jess and he chose the latter. His decision left the house in tears as Samantha was sent home from the ITV show. After the recoupling ceremony, the cast member said in her exit interview that she was "true to herself" and followed what she felt was "right for her."

"Obviously I'm devastated to leave all of the girls behind but I am very excited now to see what my future holds and look forward to seeing what is next. I was true to myself and didn't feel like it was a waste of my time because I followed what I felt was right for me. When it comes to Joey, I think if I knew what I know now, I perhaps would have done things differently."
