American media personality Kylie Jenner has made it to Vogue’s September 2024 cover. The cover was released on Vogue’s official website on August 13. For the first time, someone from the Kardashian-Jenner family has made it to the British Vogue’s cover. The cover features Kylie wearing a coat by Prada, earrings by BVLGARI, and tights by Calzedonia.
Kylie's cover was also on British Vogue’s Instagram page. However, soon after the announcement, fans of Kylie Jenner reacted to the news on various social media platforms. While some seemed to be extremely happy, others had offbeat reactions. Khloe Kardashian commented on the Instagram post with seven red hearts.
Most fans seemed to think that Kylie Jenner's cover photo did not match her age. While others commented on the angle being unfortunate, a section of social media users raised their concern over artificial facial interventions.
As per one Instagram user,
"Sorry but she absolutely looks 60 years old. Like this is Susan Lucci as far as I’m concerned. This is a desperate housewife, she’s lived on Wisteria Lane since 1967. So insane that so many of these injectors are only JUST being honest about filler migration. It’s terrible for you and it looks BAD”, wrote one user on X.
"I saw more of the photos too, and her expression is the same in every photo. Makes me wonder if, because the work to her face, she is actually incapable of moving her face very much without something looking even worse than this”, commented a user on X.
Several social media users seemed to counter the ongoing rhetoric about the cover pic. They commented on how beauty standards have become artificial in today’s times. These are some of the reactions:
“This *almost* makes me feel sad for her. She never stood a chance against this plasticization of her humanity; not with being the second wave of Kris Jenner’s kids who grew up in the height of Kim’s 2010s success”, another X user wrote.
“It always makes me feel kinda bad that Kylie was one of the biggest victims of beauty standards, then she got surgery and created new beauty standards and now she has to face the repercussions of all that surgery”, a comment on X read.
“why do guys love talking about womens apperances omg who asked”, another user wrote.
Some netizens reacted to the angle from which the photo was taken. Here’s what they had to say,
“Plus, the angle is horrendous. Who allowed this to be the cover photo?! At first glance, that strand of hair gives the Illusion that she has loose skin in her neck”, an X user wrote.
“It was a terrible choice for a cover by an art director really. The angle is awful, retouch, yikes with her hands (two fingers look amputated) and the harsh lighting isn't complimentary here for her. It's just an unfortunate shoot and choice for a cover imo (speaking as a photog)”, another comment read.
Kylie Jenner became emotional after learning she made it to Vogue's cover
In an interview piece published by British Vogue on August 13, the socialite said she cried when she first learned that she made it to British Vogue's cover. Staggered at this news, she reconfirmed whether it was her or Kendall Jenner.
As the interview went on, she mentioned being in a 'mommy' mode in her early 20s. After she had her son, she became more engrossed in the fashion world. However, she wished she would have done that sooner. Kylie Jenner also stated,
"The world put a lot of pressure on a teenager, me, to make the right decisions. And I just have to be gentle with myself because although I carried so much responsibility in the moment, I was just trying to do what was best for me. I was just trying my best as a human."
In an episode of The Kardashians released on June 20, Kylie Jenner became emotional at the comments she has been receiving on her looks. She said,
"I am so numb to people talking about my looks at this point and I just want to know why on the internet no one says anything or think that it's okay. I went on a journey the last year dissolving like half my lif filler, I hate even having this conversation over and over again because it feels like a waste of my breath.."
People have been talking about Kylie Jenner's looks since her early teens. Despite that, she thinks of herself as a confident person. Her sister Kendall said that the way to deal with the hateful comments is to grow tough skin.
