The Great British Bake Off season 15 found its winner this week on Tuesday, November 26, 2024. The Channel 4 show saw the final three— Georgie, Christiaan, and Dylan participate one last time in a Signature Bake, Technical Challenge, and Showstopper Challenge.
By the end of the episode, Georgie emerged victorious. Judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith praised the contestant's efforts and said she "smashed it out of the park."
Fans of the baking competition took to social media to chime in on Georgie's victory. While some celebrated her, others felt Dylan should have won the show.
"It should have been Dylan. Was I the only one who cheered when we saw Dylan now works in a Michelin starred restaurant? Exactly where he should be. I’d love to know where just to visit the restaurant," one person wrote on X.
"Wow. That was disappointing, Sorry, but simple flavours shouldn't win over clear talent. Also, wasn't she meant to be out in week 3 or something, but scrapped through as someone else messed up? C should have won based on that performance, but also glad to see that D is doing well," a fan commented.
"Dylan was the real winner. Everyone knows. Now working at a Michelin restaurant. Congratulations to the competition winner," a tweet read.
Some fans of The Great British Bake Off season 15 celebrated Georgie's win:
"A lovely neurodivergent Welsh lady won it, with a fantastic bake that was worthy of a winner. Some praise for Georgie -please?! Llongyfarchiadau, Georgie. Well done to the amazing Christiaan, and Dylan, all best wishes for a very bright future," a person wrote.
"Bravo!! A well deserved winner. That final cake looked stunning, and sounded delicious. Send me a slice please," a fan commented.
"Georgie deserved it, smashed the final & did what you need to do in the final by making the perfect showstopper. Feel for Dylan, but that boy has an amazing future ahead of him," a tweet read.
Some fans of The Great British Bake Off felt Christiaan should have won:
"Sorry. Picked the wrong winner there. Know the showstopper was great, but consistently across each challenge Christian was the better baker," a person wrote.
"majority of people had the same reaction yet again: the winning was between Dylan and Christiaan yet Georgie's "traditional flavours" (that sent Gill home) got her the prize in the final that feels like a cheap fix for a flirty favourite of certain someone. So tired of it," a fan commented.
"I did it"— The Great British Bake Off season 15 winner Georgie Grasso talks victory and neurodivergence
