Gabe passed away from cancer in December 2018. She further described how unsupportive her present husband, Von Scales, had been during this challenging time of her life. She also mentioned dreaming about her late sister, Traci Braxton, who passed away from cancer in March 2022.

The Braxtons star Trina reveals she started spiraling after her husband Gabe's passing

While opening up to her therapist, Spirit, Trina revealed she started seeing her deceased family members ever since Gabe passed away. She mentioned she was "punished" by Von for grieving her late husband. She claimed he was "uncomfortable" watching her "grieve another dude."

She tried explaining to him that she was not remembering "another dude," but the person who looked after her children and was in her life "for over 16 years." Despite that, Von failed to respect her emotions and urged her to "move on" with her life.

While describing her dreams about Gabe, The Braxtons cast member said:

"He used to visit me in my sleep, not, like, weird stuff, it's more of a visit like we have right now. We're sitting talking to people."

She confessed that when her sister Traci visited her in her sleep, they would relive the moments they spent together. Although the memories were precious to her, she wanted to move on and live her life in a more "comprehensive way without having to lean on that grief."

The Braxtons star continued:

"When I close my eyes I see her being ill. When I close my eyes I see the color leaving her body."

She noted it made her emotional and often fearful about the future of her other sisters.
