"Slower than Angela" — Big Brother fans react to Tucker losing the AI Arena competition

Big Brother released its latest episode on CBS on Thursday, August 29, 2024, and it featured the eviction of Tucker Des Lauriers as the week six evictee. The other nominees who evaded getting ousted from the house were Makensy and Angela.

The three contestants were offered the chance to compete in the AI Arena competition, which could help its winner secure another week's stay in the Big Brother house. Although Tucker and Angela attempted to put their best foot forward, Makensy outperformed them and bagged the victory.

The AI Arena competition in the latest episode was another puzzle, a game that the houseguests were familiar with. Consequently, Tucker felt confident about winning the challenge since he had won similar games before. However, he failed to tackle it and was slower than Angela. He was ultimately evicted from the house with five votes in his name.

Popularly known as the "comp beast" among fans, the cast member's performance surprised the viewers. They took to X to express their opinion. Netizens were convinced he purposely "threw" the challenge because he wished to be eliminated.

"it's clear that tucker didn't want to win the ai arena, he was slower than angela please i mean," a fan wrote.

"I knew I was right to be nervous. I’ve never been nervous for Tucker before, but I was nervous before the AI Arena started. Something just told me it was gonna be different this time," a netizen commented.

Big Brother season 26 fans were disappointed in Tucker's performance in the latest episode.

"am i tripping or did tucker throw that AI arena???" one person wrote.

"The one week we needed Tucker to win AI arena of course he doesn’t not even close," another netizen commented.

"For someone who ‘really likes puzzles’ Tucker was sh*t at that AI arena," a fan tweeted.

Some Big Brother fans also claimed that Tucker lost the challenge on purpose, as he was ready to go home and "never wanted to be in the jury house."

"Anybody remember Tucker screaming “I love puzzles!” In the earlier AI arena he played??? That was NOT the same person who played this time. That man is ready to go home," a user commented.

Big Brother season 26 star Tucker revealed he did not throw the BB AI Arena competition

In the AI Arena challenge, called "Puzzling Password," Makensy, Tucker, and Angela had to arrange an oversized puzzle, revealing a numerical password. They had to match the password to one among a series of encrypted choices. Makensy was the first to place the pieces in the correct alignment and then chose the right code on her first attempt.

Meanwhile, Tucker struggled to understand the game and placed the puzzle pieces backward. The other Big Brother nominee Angela surpassed Tucker in the challenge but could not outshine Makensy.

As a result, Angela and Tucker were up for elimination. Eventually, Tucker was evicted from the Big Brother house after receiving the majority votes. After he exited the house, host Julie Chen Moonves asked Tucker if he purposely lost the AI Arena challenge, to which he replied:

"No, I built the thing backwards. I love puzzles. I just misunderstood this one."

He added that he looked at Makensy's puzzle to understand the rules of the game. During the live feeds, the cast member confided in his "showmance" Rubina that he felt exhausted and wanted to go home. As a result, fans were convinced Tucker sabotaged his game on purpose.

However, while speaking to Julie he confessed he wanted "that win really badly." Although the outcome was not in his favor, he was glad he could participate in the show.
