"Smart move"— The Voice fans praise Gwen for stealing Mor

The Voice season 26 aired episode 7 this week on Monday, October 21, 2024. The segment saw the coaches pit their singers against one another for a spot in the Knockout rounds. As part of the format, the coaches picked which contestant from their team they wanted to save, while the other was available to others to be stolen.

When Kiara Vega and Mor Ilderton battled it out from Team Bublé, the coach picked Kiara. As Mor said his goodbyes and was about to leave the show, Gwen Stefani pressed her Steal Button and incorporated the singer into her team.

Fans of the show reacted to Gwen stealing the singer and were appreciative of the famed singer. One wrote on X:

"I was going to be so sad if Mor wasn’t stolen!," a fan commented.

The Voice season 26 — Kiara and Mor go head to head during Battles round 1

In The Voice season 26 episode 7, titled, The Battles Premiere, Team Bublé sent Kiara Vega and Mor Ilgerton against one another as they performed Iris by the Goo Goo Dolls. About the pairing and the song choice, the coach said it was "age appropriate" and felt two were breaking into the world together.

He added that he believed that the song was unique and deserved to be sung but two people as unique as Mor and Kiara. The song made Reba McEntire emotional and Snoop Dogg offered feedback.

He told The Voice season 26 contestant that their performance was "amazing." He complimented the way Mor and Kiara worked together on the show and sounded like they were "in love with each other."

He told Kiara that while she did good, she could rise when she needed to. He told Mor that he loved his tone and couldn't compare his voice with another singer.

"You sound like you," he stated.

Reba McEntire told The Voice season 26 female star that she had a "beautiful voice" and she owned the stage. The coach told Mor he was "so different," and a "stylist." She said she liked his "raspy voice" and the way he looked at the audience.

Gwen Stefani also praised the performance and complimented Mor's "intensity," "stage presence" and "rasp." She said that he was just unique. While Reba and Gwen both believed Mor did a better job, Michael Bublé picked Kiara. He said that it was an impossible decision but he picked her because of her potential.

He added that Kiara had a "great voice" and she didn't sound like "any other girl." The coach added that the music industry didn't know they were missing a piece of a puzzle and that Kiara was it.

Just as Mor was about to leave the stage, Gwen Stefani pressed her Steal button and incorporated the contestant into her team. Fans applauded the coach for stealing Mor online.
