"So bitter"— Southern Charm fans react to Austen telling Shep about his confrontation with Craig

Southern Charm season 10 aired episode 5 on Thursday, January 9, 2025. The segment saw the aftermath of Austen Kroll confronting Craig Conover about him being an absent friend.

When Shep Rose visited Austen, he said he was "dying" to hear all about the conversation. The latter said that he told Craig he missed his friend but was worried that he might not have been clear. He further told the cameras that Craig could not handle any "constructive criticism" because he was "living life perfectly."

Fans of the Bravo reality show commented on Austen and Shep's conversation online and were divided by it.

"Shep & Austen are so bitter. It’s crazy that they’re so personally affected by Craig deciding he doesn’t want to party anymore," one person wrote on X.

"Austen is so green. Shep has always been slightly jealous of Craig for years, despite coming from money. he hates he was ousted from the trio after the reunion, and now that he sees a crack in Austen & Craig’s friendship, he’s taking his spot back & ousting Craig," a fan commented.

In Southern Charm season 10 episode 5, Shep Rose visited Austen Kroll and discussed the latter's conversation with Craig Conover. Austen told the Bravo celebrity that he hadn't spoken to Craig since the confrontation.

Shep Rose asked if the Southern Charm star had become so "thin-skinned" that it was not even worth bringing up anymore. Austen told him he was going to adjust his expectations moving forward.

"My expectations have been here of what our friendship should be. So I'm not going to bring it up anymore. I'm just going to like, lower the bar, I guess," Austen said.

Southern Charm's Shep recalled talking to Austen and Craig in Camden that they saw relationships differently than he did. He further said that he would never be "really close" with Craig.
