Season 47 of Survivor returned with a new episode on Wednesday, November 13, 2024. After Sierra's elimination last week, the castaways sent Sol home in a blindside elimination. Although Sol tried various methods to avoid being targeted by the other players, he eventually fell prey to Genevieve's plan, which everyone had already consented to.
Genevieve convinced the cast members to target Sol when he was not expecting it. The participants mentioned Kyle, Sue, and even Sam's names to keep Sol out of the loop of their secret plan. Genevieve explained that she aimed to go after the "subtle threats," before aiming for bigger ones like Kyle and Gabe.
Eventually, her plan came to fruition and Sol was sent packing with a unanimous vote. Survivor season 47 fans took to X to express their views on Sol's elimination. While many were upset to see him leave, others were surprised the castaways chose to save stronger contenders like Kyle and Gabe.
"I am SO BUMMED. I really liked Sol," a fan wrote.
"Sol had the patience of a saint but he never seemed to find his footing. I loved the energy he brought to the game and the humor he managed to find in everything. I’m gonna miss him," another fan commented.
"After all that mess Sol was the one to go and Kyle got ZERO votes f**king idiots," a netizen tweeted.
Many Survivor season 47 fans were upset with the Tribal Council's outcome. They praised Sol's gameplay and wanted him to remain in the competition.
"Did not expect to lose Sol this early…… second juror ??! Sol you will be missed!" a user reacted.
"NOOOOOOOOOO NOT KING SOL OMG all that for a near unanimous vote and I have no idea wtf just happened at tribal ugh. Props to Sol for going down swinging, and to Sam for hopefully earning a jury vote others may have burned!" a person commented.
"all of that and sol is still voted out… goodbye goodbye you were bigger than the whole sky," another fan wrote.
At the same time, Survivor fans claimed the castaways made a mistake eliminating Sol before taking out Kyle, who had won immunity thrice.
"Getting rid of Sol was a massive mistake, especially when you have a chance to break up the Tuku 4 and especially the incredibly tight trio of Caroline, Sue, and Gabe. It was a very short term move by Genevieve. Agree?" a user posted.
"These people on #Survivor make my blood boil!!! Why would you want Sol out when Kyle has literally won every single individual immunity since the merge. Folks playing with Summit tactics - stupidly," a person reacted.
"A whole comp beast could've been taken out but Sol is gone," another netizen commented.
What led to Sol's eviction from Survivor season 47?
At the start of the episode, Sol named Gabe his next target. However, during the picnic that he enjoyed as a reward for the immunity challenge, he agreed with Teeny, Kyle, and Gabe to take out Sam. Gabe reassured Sol that Sue and Genevieve would agree with the plan and cast their votes against Sam.
On the contrary, Genevieve convinced Sue to turn against Sol since the latter aimed to eliminate Gabe. Sue consented to the Survivor cast member's secret plan to protect her closest allies, Gabe and Genevieve, and seek revenge on Sol for flipping things at the Lavo tribe.
At the same time, Genevieve knew Gabe was "the missing piece" and needed his agreement to move forward with her plan to blindside Sol. After convincing him to execute her plan, she approached Kyle, who was ready to do whatever it took to secure his position in the game.
"Let's get a blindside in our pocket," he said.
Gabe praised Genevieve for being the "planner" of the blindside, while the latter confessed it was a "complicated" process to get everyone on board. When Caroline lost her vote in the journey challenge, Genevieve contacted Andy with a "crazy-crazy" plan to target Sol.
Andy did not waste any time before consenting to her idea. The Survivor star also managed to persuade Rachel to turn against Sol. Although she was "genuinely torn," she knew it would be wise for her game.
When Sam got wind of the news, he revealed it to Sol, explaining that they were all voting against him. However, his plan to turn everyone against Sue and save Sol failed. Although they agreed to vote out Sue, their real target remained Sol. As a result of Genevieve's efforts, Sol received the majority and was evicted from Survivor season 47. Teeny got emotional losing her close ally in the competition.
"I love you, Sol," she said.
In his exit video, Sol expressed how grateful he was to be a part of the show. He added that he was "completely humbled" by the experience because it was "a dream come true" for him.
