"So over your fakeness" — Big Brother season 26 fans celebrate Matt's eviction

Big Brother season 26 aired a brand new episode this week on Thursday, July 25, 2024. The episode started with the aftermath of the veto competition, during which Lisa Weintraub was able to save herself from the risk of elimination, and HoH Angela Murray put her rival, Matt Hardeman, on the block. This meant that Matt joined Kenney and Kimo on the block and one of them went home.

The three at-risk players went head-to-head in the A.I. Arena in a task called Glitch in the System. Kimo won the task and was safe from being eliminated. The houseguests then voted for who they wanted to send home between Matt and Kenney. With eight votes against him, Matt Hardeman became the first Big Brother season 26 to be eliminated.

Fans of the show took to social media to react to the segment and celebrated Matt's eviction. One person wrote on X:

Season 26 fans chimed in on Matt telling Angela that he forgave her before leaving:

Matt Hardeman and Angela Murray's fight and the first Big Brother season 26 eviction

Big Brother season 26 week one started with a bang as alliances started forming as well as rivalries. One such rivalry was between Matt Hardeman and Angela Murray whose big blowout was featured in episode 4, which aired on Wednesday, July 24, 2024.

As a result of the fight, Angela put the male houseguest on the block when Lisa won the Veto competition and saved herself. Matt was upset and tried to rally the troops and seemingly made an alliance, called The Barbershop, of eight people to secure votes.

He told the players that he was upset and would go after Angela if he won Head of Household next week. Meanwhile, The Collective alliance, was still hoping to send the cast member packing.

Those who were at risk of going home were Kenney, Kimo, and Matt, who made their way to the AI Arena. At the arena, Ainsle explained that during Glitch in the System, photos of Big Brother season 26 contestants would be multiplying on screens.

There were 16 screens of "multiplied houseguests". In just two minutes they had to guess which player's picture was seen the most. Kimo correctly guessed Quinn as the most appeared contestant and was safe.

The houseguests voted against Kenney and Matt and eight people voted to send the latter home.

After the episode aired, Big Brother season 26 fans celebrated Matt's departure from the show and some even credited Angela for taking him out.
