Below Deck Mediterranean season 9 released episode 16 on Monday, September 16, 2024. As the crew prepared for their final charter, Ellie continued to feel excluded, convinced she was being treated differently than the rest, especially the newest addition, Carrie.
Ellie complained about feeling unacknowledged and underappreciated after Carrie got on board. She added that Aesha's new approach towards her made her not want to work harder. As a result, she slacked off, refusing to put in the extra work to match Aesha's high standards.
Ellie attempted to exert her superiority over Carrie, hoping to make the newcomer understand her position on deck. She claimed Carrie tried to overstep her boundaries and demean her by offering her suggestions at work. At one point, Ellie took over the radio to give orders to her teammates. However, Chief Stew Aesha stepped in to remind Ellie she was not in charge.
Below Deck Mediterranean fans took to X to criticize Ellie's behavior. They called out her power-hungry personality, which was a nuisance to her crewmates.
"I honestly don't know how anyone can be a fan of Ellie. She's so insufferable at every turn," one fan wrote.
"Ellie is the type of person who was never told "no" as a child," another fan commented.
"Never seeing Ellie again will give us joy," a netizen tweeted.
Many fans of Below Deck Mediterranean commented on Ellie's lack of professionalism.
"Holy Hell, Ellie should have been FIRED! She's such a pain in the a**!! The boat wouldn't have sucked your soul if you had done your job!!" a user reacted.
"Oh Ellie. Just shut up and do your job," a person commented.
"Ellie is her own worst enemy. Relax girl!" a fan wrote.
At the same time, many Below Deck Mediterranean fans claimed Ellie had the wrong mindset for a team member. She was constantly jealous of others and wanted to be in the good graces of her superior.
"Ellie, YOU are the common denominator on that ship with the inside crew. Every time there is a problem, you are in the middle of it. YOU are all about your ego," a user tweeted.
"Ellie, if people keep kicking you out of situations you are trying to "help" in, take a look at your attitude," another netizen commented.
"Ellie, sweetie, you were overstepping so much their shadows thought they were yours," a fan reacted.
Below Deck Mediterranean star Ellie wants to be acknowledged
Ever since Carrie was welcomed on board, Ellie felt that Aesha had stopped noticing her. She claimed her superior sided with the newcomer and was biased towards her.
"There's a palpable shift in Aesha's behavior toward me every since Carrie got onboard and I'm here, like, 'What about me? Remember me?'" said Ellie.
The Below Deck Mediterranean cast member added Aesha's changed attitude demotivated her and made her not want to work harder. While speaking to the cameras, Ellie confessed she wanted to "check out a little bit" because she did not like how she was being treated. Despite understanding why Aesha wanted the "highest yacht standards," Ellie did not put her best foot forward.
When Aesha found multiple fingerprints all over the doors and Ellie "goofing off" in the crew mess, she called it out in front of everyone. She slammed her for "flouncing around" instead of keeping up with the work.
"It is like she's trying to p**s me off," Aesha said.
In one episode segment, Ellie tried to take charge of Carrie's work, intending to exert her power over her. During a confessional, Carrie revealed Ellie's attempts to become the "alpha dog" did not bother her as it took away from the workload.
However, when Carrie made work-related suggestions, it bothered Ellie. The Below Deck Mediterranean cast member said:
"That feels amazing as a second stew having the floater tell me what to do at this point. At the same time, I've been kicked out of laundry but now Carrie can do laundry all of a sudden? What the f**k is going on?"
Tensions peaked when Aesha found Ellie giving orders to the other crewmates. She then pulled her aside and confronted her behavior.
Below Deck Mediterranean airs every Monday at 9 pm ET only on Bravo.
