Season 5 of Below Deck Sailing Yacht released episode 12, Fraught Mess, on Monday, December 30, 2024. The episode showcased Captain Glenn and the crew welcoming a new group of guests on board for a one-night charter. Unfortunately, the situation quickly deteriorated for the crew once the guests began to complain about the service they received.

The guests were unimpressed by the boat's facilities and the food and cocktails they were served. They often sent the dishes back, asking Chef Cloyce to prepare something else while complaining about the taste of the beverages. They even had a private conversation with Captain Glenn, in the absence of the staff, to inform him about their dissatisfaction.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht fans took to X to disapprove of the guests' behavior. They criticized them for complaining about their experience throughout their stay on the yacht.

"These charter guests are so miserable," a fan wrote.
"Ever go out with a group of people, and there's ALWAYS "that one" who isn't happy with ANYTHING - and they THINK they're showing discerning taste & high class. No - they're being an insufferable a**. That's ALL of these guests," another fan commented.
"I feel like people get on these yachts thinking they are going to be demanding because that makes them look rich and fancy and in reality …" a netizen tweeted.

Many Below Deck Sailing Yacht fans disapproved of the guests' criticism of the service.

"these guests need to go back to Olive Garden. That seems to be the level of “fun” they may enjoy," a user reacted.
"These guests need to be dragged when they get home for being such a**h*les about every da*n thing," a person commented.
"What do these guests expect? To be entertained 24/7? They’ve been on what a couple hours and look unhappy. Like you’re on a super yacht in Ibiza geez," another fan wrote.
"not only are the charter guests AWFUL people, but they don’t seem to enjoy anything or know how to have fun. They’re in the Mediterranean at Ibiza on a sailing yacht, yet they are MISERABLE. Make it make sense?" one user posted.

Other Below Deck Sailing Yacht fans expressed a similar sentiment.

"These are hands down the worst guests of the season. The man traveling with them seems very nice, but these ladies are humorless & awful!" a person reacted.
"My gut tells me these people are not going to tip - they made up their minds to hate this cruise the second they stepped on that dock - the crew did nothing wrong, these might be the worse guests on sailing history," another netizen commented.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht: Daisy accidentally spills drinks on the dining table

The Below Deck Sailing Yacht guests found issues with the yacht's amenities as soon as they stepped on the dock. While Daisy gave them a tour of the boat, one of the guests complained about the absence of an "actual pool" on deck. Tonya, the charter guest, expressed concern about the size of the bedrooms, comparing it to the size of her college dorm.

During meal time, the guests complained about the taste of the cocktails. The other charter guest, Lakesha, dissatisfied with the Aperol spritz, said,

"It's an acquired taste."

Their experience worsened when Chief Stew Daisy accidentally spilled the drinks on the dining table. While she apologized and cleaned up the mess, the co-primary guest, Sharie refused to eat the oysters and asked Chef Cloyce to prepare her some shrimp. However, Chef Cloyce was surprised to discover that Sharie sent the food back despite having oysters on her preference sheet.

The Below Deck Sailing Yacht co-primary guest further criticized the taste of the Aperol spritz, saying it tasted like "cough syrup." They were also unimpressed by the amount of food and drinks being served to them, while one wondered when they would get to the main course.

Later in the Below Deck Sailing Yacht episode, the guests informed Captain Glenn that they expected "luxury" for the price they paid. However, they encountered a few "hiccups" along the way which sabotaged their experience.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht airs on Mondays at 9 pm ET only on Bravo.
