The much-awaited season 26 of The Voice premiered on NBC on September 23, 2024. The first episode saw Snoop Dogg and Michael Bublé as the new judges, along with Gwen Stefani and Reba McEntire, who were judges previously as well.
The Blind Auditions Part 1 in episode 1 of the new season, gave viewers an insight into the contestants vying to win the show. The winner will be getting a grand prize of $100,000 and the chance to record an album with Universal Music Group.
One of the contestants who impressed the judges' panel and the audience was ChrisDeo, who performed I Won't Give Up by Jason Mraz. The judges loved the 16-year-old street performer's song choice and praised her for the same.
Snoop Dogg was the first judge to turn his chair and did so early on during her performance. ChrisDeo chose Snoop as her mentor.
Fans of The Voice took to X to praise ChrisDeo and her performance, with many stating that they were "proud of her."
"Awww Chrisdeo is so precious I’m so proud of her!!" an X user wrote.

Some of The Voice fans also echoed Gwen Stefani's comment when she said that ChrisDeo was a "diamond in the rough." Many hoped that with the right coaching and time, the teen could only improve.

What judges had to say about Chrisdeo's performance on the premiere episode of The Voice season 26
ChrisDeo, a 16-year-old, came to The Voice stage from Queens, New York, and impressed the coaches with her performance.
After her performance, Gwen Stefani called her voice "angelic" and said it was like a "diamond in the rough" because it sounded like she didn't have enough experience. Stefani said that was okay because they were there to coach her.
When Michael Bublé asked why she cried after finishing her performance, ChrisDeo explained that she was a street singer and that people would laugh at her when she sang. She teared up again and added that it was hard not to cry because everyone on The Voice was happy to see her, which she had never felt before.
Michael told her that, like her, he also started playing on the streets when he was 16 or 17, and no one would ever pay for him to sing. He said his grandpa was a plumber who would give free plumbing to clubs and musicians so that they would let Michael sing there.
He said he loved the "raw emotion" he heard in ChrisDeo and said that he "heard this really cool pixie kind of thing happening."
"I'm just so happy for you, kid," the singer said.
Reba McEntire thanked her for coming on The Voice and told her that the next time people laughed at her, she should know that angels were around her. She added that the angels had blessed the teen with her beautiful voice.
Snoop Dogg, meanwhile, said he knew he had to turn his chair from the first note of voice he heard. He said she had a gift, and because she was young, she still had time to grow. He then asked her to learn how to cry tears of happiness.
When Gwen asked who she would like to pick as her coach, ChrisDeo went with Snoop.
New episodes of The Voice season 26 come out on Mondays, at 8 pm ET, on NBC.
