Selling Sunset is set to return to screens with season 8 on September 6, 2024, and several prominent cast members are already making waves online. Nicole Young, Chrishell Stause, Emma Hernan, and Chelsea Lazkani are currently involved in a public feud that has taken social media by storm.
Chrishell and Nicole had been at odds since the latter joined the cast of the Netflix show during season 6. While there had been social media jabs between the two in the past, their online beef just ahead of the show's latest season release has increased public interest.
On August 31, 2024, Chrishell posted an Instagram story that has since expired. She added a poll in the story asking the public's opinion about Nicole. She asked whether there should be a "Get Nicole Off My Screen Button" and the options were "Yes," and "Hell Yes."
As several cast members got involved in the fight and accused Nicole of lying, the latter retaliated to her Instagram handle and denied the claims. Fans, who have been following the controversy online, reacted to this online feud. One person wrote on X:
"Chrishell and Chelsea are going off online I see. Well, I need season 8 immediately please and thank you. I am so ready for the drama"
"Chrishell and Chelsea are going off online I see. Well, I need season 8 immediately please and thank you. I am so ready for the drama," a fan commented.
"chrishell going off on her instagram stories, most likely being about nicole i need season 8 like right now," a tweet read.
Some Selling Sunset fans picked sides and supported Nicole Young:
"Didn’t these three accuse Nicole of doing drugs last season though when it wasn’t true. Chrishell has always gotten the good edit, even when she didn’t deserve it. So spare me her outrage @XtineQuinn was smart to leave this show when she did," a person wrote.
"I need to understand the Nicole hate, cause I don’t get it. I went to watch S7, giving it a try, but Emma and Chrishell give me mean girl vibes to the max," a fan commented.
"Nicole continues to play a great villain! Literally the reason to watch the show instead of the dry and dull lead they have," a tweet read.
Other Selling Sunset fans supported Chrishell:
"Why did they bring Nicole back? She’s a try hard who tried it and failed last season with Chrishell and now she’s putting her horribleness out there against Emma? Just say you have nothing going on in your life and call it a day," a person wrote.
"Going into another Selling Sunset season ready to hate Nicole," a fan commented.
Selling Sunset stars Chrishell Stause and Nicole Young's Instagram feud
On August 31, 2024, Selling Sunset star Chrishell Stause took to social media to criticize one of her co-stars on the Netflix show. In a since-then-deleted Instagram story, the reality star said someone needed to "take" away her phone and posed a question.
"Are we really still giving air time to LIARS that just want air time??"
This was followed by a pole asking fans whether Nicole Young should still be on Selling Sunset. In the follow-up story, Chrishell stated that she would never work on a show with "her" on it again. The reality TV star added that she would rather get sued. She also tagged the show's production company, Done and Done Productions and called them "disgusting".
"You are disgusting for blinding her with this to see with the world instead of letting her at LEAST defend herself with the TRUTH," Chrishell wrote.
Her friends and co-stars Emma Hernan, and Chelsea Lazkani also criticized Young. In one of her Instagram stories, Chelsea called out Nicole Young, Bre Tiesi, and Mary Fitzgerald.
She wrote that the Selling Sunset stars would "lie, placate," and "steal" and that she would no longer remain quiet. She further accused Nicole of being "homophobic and transphobic."
In response, Nicole also took to social media to retaliate. She said that the group of Selling Sunset cast members were "attacking" her and "accusing" her of lying.
The drama would likely be a part of Selling Sunset season 8, slated to air on Friday, September 6, 2024, on Netflix.
