“Some nerve”— Love & Marriage: Huntsville fans react to Martell and Maurice criticizing Mel

Season 9 of Love & Marriage: Huntsville released episode 9 on December 28. The episode saw Tricia accusing Chris Fletcher of trying to set her up with Martell. It also witnessed Martell's therapy session. He also sat down for a one-on-one with Maurice.

In the Love & Marriage: Huntsville episode, Maurice counseled Martell on his mental well-being and advised him to move on from his separation from Mel. He also brought up the instance that was covered in a past episode, where Mel had shown disappointment in Maurice's DUI and had accused him of not being accountable enough.

Maurice narrated the event to Martell and said that Mel was hurt because of her separation with Martell relaying on TV, so she had become a tactical personality. He clarified this by saying that she was always looking for things she could use against others.

He also said that she had lost her true and "bubbly" self. Martell agreed to everything Maurice said, and even laughed at the fact that she called him out for the DUI. Fans of Love & Marriage: Huntsville took to X to react to this conversation.

"Maurice you got some nerve to go to Martell and try to sympathize with him about Mel when he’s been found guilty of revenge p*rn. It’s no alleged. Martell can’t be used as a scapegoat to deflect from you being arrested for DUI," a fan said.

Did Maurice go to check on Martell for what he did and said to Marsau and Tisha or to get an ally against Mel? Man…," said another.

"Why are Maurice & Martell even talking about Melody?!?! Let's not forget that these people know exactly what Martell has done to her, including revenge p*rn, & they continue to act clueless about why she acts like that with them," added another.

While most fans of Love & Marriage: Huntsville criticized Maurice and Martell, some even praised the former for giving Martell the right advice.

"Maurice gave Martell the best advice he could ever give him and Martell isn’t going to listen," an X user wrote.

"Maurice spoke some words of wisdom to Martell. Hurt people hurt people, and Martell and Melody are living it. It's time for them to let the pain go because life is too short," another user wrote.

Some fans of Love & Marriage: Huntsville accused Maurice of using Mel's topic to divert from taking accountability for his DUI.

"Maurice and Martell sitting up like 2 b*tches talking about Mel, Maurice just doesn’t want to talk about the fact that he was driving drunk!" commented one.

"I am NOT a Mel fan, however, I have a problem with Maurice discussing Mel with Martel of all people. I don’t think that was appropriate given the state of Mel & Martel’s relationship. He could’ve talked to anybody else about that discussion he & Mel had regarding his DUI," another wrote.

The conversation Martell and Maurice had about Mel on Love & Marriage: Huntsville season 9 episode 9

Martell and Maurice laughed as the latter narrated how Mel came to her at Tricia's party and commenced him to "damnation". This referred to the time when Mel called Maurice out for not taking accountability for his DUI.

He added that if she was really concerned, she would've come directly to him instead of assassinating his character from person to person. This referred to the talks Mel had with Tisha and Kimmi, before she brought up the topic with Maurice himself.

Maurice added that Mel was only famous because of what Martell had done and that he had given her "so much grace" over the years. He said Mel had been projecting ever since she was hurt. Martell agreed with Maurice and said that dealing with Mel was indeed difficult.
