Love Never Lies: South Africa episode 7 (finale episode) dropped on Netflix on December 6. The episode titled Time to Come Clean documented the contestants answering one last question each about the conflict in their relationship.
A lie detector then evaluated their answers, and for every truthful answer, 30k rand was added to the final prize pot. The final prize money pot went to the winners of the show.
Meanwhile, during his run on the reality TV series, Clayton was caught talking to his ex-partner. He also flirted with other people on Love Never Lies: South Africa, raising concerns about his fidelity. Although Clayton stated in the finale that he wanted to be fully committed to Wilfred, fans were skeptical of his answer.
Fans took to social media to express that Clayton might not commit to Wilfred fully or that he could potentially cheat even when he said he wished to move in with Wilfred.
"Wilfred is delulu yerrr! Clayton will cheat on him again hle!! Nah someone save Wilfred from Clayton," said one fan.
"I just know Clayton said he wants to settle down and love Wilfred because he almost cheated on the show but that man not about to stop flirting and seeking new s*xual connections," said another.
"Clayton doesn't deserve Wilfred. He is a sl*t and nothing will change that," a third one added.
"Wilfred must just leave Clayton it’s not worth it," another wrote.
Most fans of Love Never Lies: South Africa said they didn't trust Clayton's intentions and that Wilfred deserved better than him.
"Wilfred is driver of the relationship & Clayton is just optioning him," an X user wrote.
"I totally don’t trust Clayton," another wrote.
"I feel bad for Wilfred I doubt Clayton will ever change!" one commented.
"This couple. Clayton and Wilfred...Wilfred should just leave Clayton. He's an attention deprived heaux lmao," another said.
The questions Wilfred and Clayton were asked on Love Never Lies: South Africa finale
When Clayton walked to Wilfred in the Love Never Lies: South Africa finale episode, they hugged and were happy to see each other. It was Wilfred's turn to go first so Minnie, the host, said he was asked if he would put up with Clayton's tendencies to flirt with other people. Wilfred answered "yes" and the lie detector identified it to be the truth.
While 30k was added to the final prize pot for his truthful answer, Clayton said Wilfred didn't need to be okay with his flirting because he wasn't going to do it. He clarified that he wanted to exclusively be with Wilfred and didn't want anyone else.
Clayton was asked if he saw a future with Wilfred and he too answered with a "yes" and the lie detector deemed it to be the truthful answer. He too added 30k rand to the pot. He further explained that this was it for him and that he didn't mind moving in with Wilfred either. He even asked Wilfred jokingly if he would marry him.
When all the couples gathered at the end to see who won the competition by being truthful with their answers, Clayton and Wilfred were among the top two couples who lied the least, alongside the winners Munaka and Gontse.
The reunion episode of Love Never Lies: South Africa will be released on Netflix on December 8.
