"Soo wrong"— Outlast fans criticize Drew and Drake for eliminating Sammy

Netflix's Outlast wrapped up season 2 this week on Wednesday, September 11, 2024. The two episodes, 7 and 8, saw the remaining contestants spend their last few days in the Alaskan wilderness before participating in the final challenge that determined who would win the show. However, for one cast member, Sammy Norris, the journey came to an end 48 hours ahead of the final task.

Sammy expressed feeling ill, and his teammates, Drew and Drake, were worried about his health and his contribution to the team. When the drop informed them of their final task, they talked to Sammy about quitting and assured him they loved him. Members of Team Bravo didn't think it was smart for him to risk his health further; soon after, Sammy flared out.

Outlast season 2 fans blamed Drew and Drake for Sammy's elimination and voiced their opinions online. One person wrote on X:

Outlast season 2 fans felt Team Bravo was gaslighting Sammy:

"Drew and Drake are seriously gaslighting Sammy. Yeah, sure, they really care about you. THAT’s why they’re saying those things," a person wrote.

"Poor Sammy “they are just looking out for me” No they are not. Drew and Drake are giant a**holes that would rather split the money 2 ways than stand behind the teammate that helped them get to the end of the game. Fuck these guys very much," a fan commented.

"Omg this penultimate episode is MESSY. The way Bravo acted regarding Sammy gave me a massive ick. Feigning concern for him when it was really about greed. Poor guy deserved better. Joey's obsession w/Bravo&his snake behavior should bite him in the butt," a person wrote.

"Drew and Drake are f*cking heartless bro. Playing the savior card to Sammy without even telling him “bro there’s only 48 hrs left”. Sammy would’ve pushed. He didn’t even know a helicopter came and that’s f*cked IMO," a fan commented.

Outlast season 2: Sammy's elimination explored

In Outlast season 2 episode 7, Team Bravo's Drake and Sammy explored the island Emily had previously visited. While there, Sammy told his teammate about not feeling ill.

While in a confessional, he said that he came onto the show "without barely any fat" and that he felt his "body shrinking." He said it was a "different level of starving."

Drew and Drake discussed Sammy's condition. Drake noted the Outlast season 2 star, Sammy hadn't been "pulling his weight". Drew said that if it came down to it, they might have to "vote him off." When the letter informing the cast they had only 48 hours remaining, Drew and Drake spoke to Sammy about going home.

Drew and Drake told him they were worried about him and they didn't want him to risk his health over Outlast season 2.

Outlast season 2 fans reacted to the conversation and were critical of Drew and Drake. They blamed members of Team Bravo for Sammy's elimination.
