Love Island USA season 6 aired episode 34 on Friday, July 19, 2024. During the segment, America's votes were revealed and the Top 4 couples were announced. This included JaNa and Kenny, Serena and Kordell, Leah and Miguel, and Nicole and Kendall.
The results sent Rob, Aaron, Kaylor, and Kassy packing and after saying their goodbyes to one another in a group, some cast members pulled others for a private chat, including Rob. The male islander pulled his former partner, Leah, away from a conversation where she told him that she still cared about it and started crying.
Commenting on the conversation online, fans had conflicting views. While some felt that producers were pushing for the "Rob Leah agenda," others felt they were "soulmates." One person wrote on X:
"LEAH AND ROB ARE SOULMATES FRRR #loveislandusa"
"Rob pulling Leah for that chat before he leaves the island, omg that man still has feelings for her! And I feel like deep down she does too, but it’s just not their time anymore #loveislandusa," a comment read.
Love Island USA season 6 fans said that while they liked Miguel and Leah together, they felt that Rob and Leah were "endgame":
"Leah and Miguel are cute but Leah and Rob are endgame & I will be gutted if they don’t eventually end up together #loveislandusa," a person wrote.
"Wait WTF why am I crying during Leah and Rob’s final chat in another world, they’re definitely end game #loveislandusa," a fan commented.
"Leah and rob rekindling things at the end of this episode made my heart melt , i miss the leah that was with rob. the connection was so genuine #loveislandusa," a tweet read.
On the other hand, some Love Island USA season 6 fans felt the conversation was set up by production:
"The producers definitely set up this conversation between rob and leah to feed their delusional shippers some content #loveislandusa," a fan commented.
"Why is this Rob and Leah conversation happening?? Production is really trying to make him look good. #loveislandusa," a person wrote.
"That rob and leah segment i could care less about. im happy leah is at peace but rob ur still a b*tch and u wont ever fool me #loveislandusa," an X user wrote.
"I really care about you" — Rob says goodbye to Leah in Love Island USA season 6 episode 34
In Love Island USA season 6 episode 34, Rob was one of the four islanders who were eliminated after receiving the fewest votes from America. As he and the other eliminated contestants only had 30 minutes to pack their bags and say their goodbyes, he pulled Leah aside for a quick conversation.
As they sat down, he joked that Leah should leave with him and the latter jokingly agreed. Rob and Leah matched up on Day 1 but didn't have the smoothest journey on the Peacock show. The male contestant switched partners and was upset with Leah when his connection, Andrea, was eliminated.
After being on bad terms for most of the season, the two cleared the air in a previous episode and in episode 34, Rob wanted to share his feelings with her.
"I really care about you. I really do, and I really, really wish you the best. And it didn't work out for us, like, romantically, but like, I really do hope that we get to stay friends," Rob said.
The Love Island USA season 6 islander added that he thought Leah was "really cool" and stated that he always "felt that way" even when he thought that she was "crazy."
"I still was like, "But I love hanging out with her." Like, it never stopped. That never stopped. And I wish you and Miguel the very, very best," Rob said.
Leah started tearing up as she told Rob she was going to miss him and told him that she never stopped caring about him. She added that she always wanted the best for Rob and will continue to want the best for him.
In a confessional, Leah added that she was sad to see Rob go. She noted that they had been in Love Island USA since day 1 and were close "right off the bat."
"He is definitely someone that is very special to me," Leah mentioned.
After watching the episode, fans chimed in on the conversation. While some netizens stated that it was pushed by the production team, others felt emotional over the conversation and felt that the two were "soulmates."
Love Island USA season 6 will air its season finale later this week on Sunday, July 21, 2024, at 9 pm ET on Peacock.
