The Love is Blind season 7 reunion, released on October 30, brought all the season's couples together for updates and reflections. When hosts Nick and Vanessa Lachey addressed online criticism of Hannah Jiles, she defended herself, explaining that her "direct" approach sometimes needed softening.
Fans of Love is Blind took to X to criticize Hannah for not owning up to her mistakes. They also noted that Hannah said she had done a lot growing up and that she hadn't grown up if she couldn't see through her mistakes.
"1 year later and HANNAH IS STILL A BULLYYYYYYY!!!!!" said one fan.
"Hannah taking no accountability during the reunion is absolutely no self-awareness," another fan said.
"Hannah still has the self-awareness of a rock I see," a third fan added.
"Hannah having a "big personality" and being "direct" doesn't give her an excuse to be rude. There's a difference between honesty and cruelty," another fan wrote.
Some fans of Love is Blind mentioned the fact that even though Hannah had room to grow as she said, she wasn't yet self-aware.
"Hannah had a lot of room to grow….but came to the reunion & hasn’t shown any growth," an X user wrote.
"Hannah said she worked on herself but is doubling down that her only issue with her delivery. Not the constant belittling and emasculation. That’s not being “direct.” Didn’t learn a damn thing," another X user wrote.
"The fact that Hannah is sitting on this stage & double downing on all he evil sh*t she said to Nick is wildddd. She’s the worst," a commentator wrote.
"Being direct does not mean you have to be rude, disrespectful or cruel Hannah," another commentator said.
What Hannah had to say on the Love is Blind season 7 reunion
Host Nick Lachey asked Hannah if looking back, would she have ridden a duck the other day. He was referring to Nick Dorka and Hannah's fight in Love is Blind episode 5, which happened because Nick rode a faux duck at the beach. Hannah received a lot of online flak for it from fans who thought it was okay for Nick to be goofy/playful.
Hannah said she still wouldn't ride the duck. When Vanessa asked if she regretted saying some things, Hannah said:
"I'm very to the point. I'm very direct. That's just who I am. I'm very blunt. And sometimes my delivery does not come out how I think it's coming out".
She accepted the fact that she was used to saying things as they were, but that made her sound like a "b*tch". So she needed to be careful of her words and "chill sometimes".
Hannah accepted that it might've taken a lot of patience for Nick to be with her because she had a "big personality" and she was "self-aware". When Vanessa asked her if she had anything to say to Nick about how she treated him, she said she was "direct" and that could be harsh but she had worked on it the past year. She then apologized to Nick for being "cruel" to him.
All 7 seasons of Love is Blind are available to stream on Netflix.
