“Stuttering and lying”—Love & Marriage: Huntsville fans react to Mel interrogating Tricia about her visit to Martell’s house

Love & Marriage: Huntsville season 9 episode 6 was released on December 7, 2024. Titled These Lips Don't Lie, the episode documented Mel asking LaTisha about Maurice's DUI arrest, while Marsau and Martell got into a fight as Destiny and Chris talked them into resolving it.

In the previous episodes of Love & Marriage: Huntsville, it was revealed that Tricia had gone to the house of Mel's ex, Martell, not long after Mel split with him. When confronted by the ladies, Tricia, a professional gym trainer, had said that she went there alone to train him.

But she hadn't told any of the ladies about her visit earlier, which they thought was crucial, given that Martell was Mel's ex. This raised suspicion about the intention of her visit.

When Mel sat down with Tricia in episode 6, she asked her which of Martell's houses she visited, what the driveway looked like, how long was she there for, etc. Fans of Love & Marriage: Huntsville reacted to this sequence as some thought Mel was being nosy about something that shouldn't bother her, while others felt that Tricia wasn't consistent with her answers.

"Oh damn…not more of Tricia’s stammering, stuttering and lying," an X user said.

"Tricia pissing me off. Is any thought of hers complete? She has a hard time articulating herself whether she’s being honest or lying. Like girl get it tf together or get off the show," said another.

"Tricia stumbling & fumbling over these answers with Mel. Why don’t you have your timeline together?" added a third one.

"The way Tricia be stumbling over her words, makes you not wanna trust her," another wrote.

Some fans of Love & Marriage: Huntsville criticized Mel for trying to fetch information that didn't matter to her anymore.

"Mel, why you care? What’s the motive here? Oh just for the sake of being messy. And Tricia, please," a fan said.

"Ummmm….Mel is looking a little crazy interrogating lying ass Tricia about this training Martell business. What is she gonna do with this information?" another fan said.

"Tricia is a fool to sit up there and let Mel interrogate her just for shits and giggles. You say you left him. You say you don't care so why you asking? Tricia be lyin her ass off tho," commented one.

"Mel playing FBI to Tricia is insane but Tricia contradicting the story is even more insane," another wrote.

The conversation between Love & Marriage: Huntsville season 9 episode 6

When Mel interrogated Tricia about her visiting Martell's house, the scene flashed back to the ladies asking Tricia if she lied to them about her visit because she wanted to protect herself from what it would've looked like.

Mel then asked her why it wasn't awkward for her when Martell invited her to train him at his house. Tricia replied that he barely knew Martell at the time, so she didn't think of it as wrong. Then, Mel questioned what year Tricia visited his house and the latter responded, "2020", the same year he split with Mel. When she was asked what month, she said she didn't remember.

In a Love & Marriage: Huntsville confessional, Mel said Tricia was treading on the line between honesty and dishonesty, which made her untrustworthy. She then began interrogating her about the whereabouts of the house she went to.

A few questions later, Mel determined that Tricia had gone to the house she lived in. When she told her they split in July-August, Tricia replied that she went there after that because she remembered it being chilly outside.

Mel also asked Tricia if she was with her current partner, Ken, at the time and she said no. Mel, in a confessional, said that it didn't matter to her anyway because she was out of the relationship now. She added that girl code was non-existent in their group, so she didn't expect Tricia to come clean about her encounter with Martell.
