In 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days season 7 episode 16, Veah met Sunny's father, as the three discussed their future together. Sunny's father commented on Veah's tattoos and said they didn't like it, followed by telling her that she would need to convert her religion if the two reality stars wanted to continue their relationship.
Veah opened up about the significance of her tattoo, and stated she got it in memory of her brother and also told her boyfriend's father she wouldn't convert her religion.
Fans of the reality show commented on the conversation online and were upset with Sunny's father's line of questioning, they were also critical of Sunny not standing up for Veah.

Sunny's father expressed being unhappy with Sunny's choice to date an American woman, while in a confessional, but hoped something good would come out of it. He commented on her attire and pointed out that he could see her tattoo through the sleeves.

Veah responded that Sunny liked her tattoos but the latter's father was not convinced and claimed that his son knew what he wouldn't approve of. Talking further about religion, the 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days season 7 star's father told her that the Bible also disapproved of tattoos, and said she would need to remove them in the future.
Veah explained the significance of her tattoo and said she didn't want to remove her tattoos. Sunny's father spoke about Veah and his son's difference in religion and explained that while they respected all religions, everyone in his family was Muslim.
