The Voice season 26 released a new episode on Monday, October 28, 2024. Night 3 of the Battles showcased some diverse face-offs, as singers went head-to-head against one another, vying to secure a spot in the Knockouts round of the reality show. At the end of each performance, the coaches had to pick one singer to advance to the next stage while eliminating the other.
The eliminated contestants could revive their journey on the show if one of the other mentors pressed their Steal button and welcomed them as their newest team member. However, they had to leave immediately if no one used their Steal.
In Monday's segment, 17-year-old Shye battled against Jamison Puckett, performing a rendition of Love Yourself by Justin Bieber. The singers from coach Michael Bublé's team wowed the mentors and the audience with their vocal skills. However, Shye won the Battle, ending Jamison's time on the show.

"jamison and shye's battles performance was AMAZING. as much as i want both of them to make it to the next round, i think i'm leaning towards shye, normally bc shes on my voice dream team," a person reacted.

What did coaches say about Shye and Jamison's Battles performance on The Voice?
Michael pitted Shye against Jamison and had them sing Love Yourself by Justin Bieber. He believed their "soulful voices" were best suited for the song. Michael wanted each singer to tell their story in their own voice.
Jamison approached the melody as a representative of leaving his "old life" behind. He confessed he was self-conscious and afraid of proudly accepting his identity. However, after working under Michael's mentorship, he could muster the courage to embrace and appreciate himself. Jamison wanted his newborn child to hear the message through his performance.
On the other hand, Shye revealed the song was slightly challenging for her since it contained reggae elements which she had never done before. Nonetheless, she looked forward to pushing her limits.
The Voice coach Snoop Dogg said their battle was "dope," complimenting their ability to "highlight those big notes and then to stay calm on certain parts" allowing the song to grow. However, he refused to name which singer he saw as the winner.
Reba McEntire echoed with the rapper as she failed to pick a frontrunner. She appreciated The Voice singers' "camaraderie" and was pleased with the "cute" stage setup. Meanwhile, Gwen Stefani commended their ability to sound "so smooth and warm."
"Jamison, you were a little bit longer with the notes and less syncopated. You're so gifted. The problem for me was Shye is 17-years-old and I cannot believe what you just did. It seems like you have zero nerves," Gwen added.
The Voice coach claimed their performance was one of her favorite Battles from the night. After weighing his options, Michael announced Shye as the winner, saying he could hear Adele in her voice. He confessed he was blown away by her act and believed she had a bright future ahead of her.
New episodes of The Voice come out every Monday and Tuesday at 8 pm ET exclusively on NBC.
