"Tells me everything" — Love & Marriage: Huntsville fans criticize Marsau for not wanting to wear his wedding band

Season 9 of Love & Marriage: Huntsville released episode 6, These Lips Don't Lie, on Saturday, December 7, 2024. In one episode segment, Latisha confronted her partner, Marsau, about not wearing his wedding band. Marsau explained that he did not wear it because it did not mean much to him, upsetting Latisha.

Earlier in the episode, Marsau and Martell got into a heated argument, during which the former was accused of allegedly cheating on Latisha. Although he dismissed the allegation, Latisha was displeased by what she heard. She wondered if others questioned their marriage because Marsau did not wear his wedding band.

Consequently, she brought Marsau to a jewelry store to buy him a new ring, hoping to change people's perspective about their marriage. However, Marsau hesitated to follow through with the plan.

Love & Marriage: Huntsville fans took to X to comment on Marsau's refusal to wear his wedding band. While many criticized him for saying the ring signified "obedience," others urged Latisha to suspect his intentions with their marriage.

"The way Marsau don’t give af about their marriage…to stand in front of a camera and proclaim your wedding band doesn’t mean anything to you, tells me everything I need to know," a fan wrote.

"Marsau feels naked without his watch and not his wedding band," another fan commented.

Many Love & Marriage: Huntsville fans disapproved of Marsau's decision not to wear his wedding band. They also criticized him for not knowing its significance.

"Marsau not wearing his wedding ring would have made me put divorce papers on the counter before he woke up the next morning," a user reacted.

"Marsau continues to show Tisha how disrespectful he is concerning their marriage. And she continues to show how stupid she is by buying HIM a wedding band because he doesn’t wear his other wedding band," a person commented.

"The ring is a sign of obedience???? And this right here brings me back to why I can’t stand Marsau," another fan wrote.

After Martell and Marsau's heated altercation at Destiny's field day, Latisha brought Martell to a jewelry store to get him a new ring since he did not wear his wedding band. Before purchasing it, she asked Marsau to explain what the ring symbolized.

"The ring doesn't symbolize that much to me. It's a sign of obedience," he replied.

Latisha corrected him by saying that it signified love and commitment.

She worried that people would assume Marsau was unmarried because he did not wear his wedding ring. While speaking to the cameras, Latisha mentioned Marsau had become "too comfortable" not wearing the ring, which she thought was one of the major reasons why others disrespected their marriage.

When Marsau continued to push his justification, the Love & Marriage: Huntsville star confessed that the past year had been difficult for her because of what others thought about her and their relationship. Latisha added that hearing others criticize them and their marriage exhausted her.

She explained that she was the type of person who liked having fun, not someone who sought conflict.

"Why do people keep coming for me? It took me through a season of like depression, for real. Like, I was really sad and hurt and I felt like alone," she said.

Marsau advised the Love & Marriage: Huntsville star not to bother herself with people's comments. In a confessional, he mentioned that it frustrated him when people spread misinformation about his marriage.
