After a short hiatus, season 26 of Big Brother released its latest episode on Thursday, October 3, 2024. The episode showcased the BB Comics Power of Veto (PoV) competition and ceremony, followed by the live eviction.

Head of Household (HoH) Makensy had nominated Kimo and Rubina for the coming elimination, with her target set on Kimo. She felt he was the least likely to take her to the end of the competition if he had the choice. Consequently, she decided to look out for herself. Makensy won the Power of Veto (PoV) and decided against using it, leaving Kimo and Rubina at risk of going home.

After a constant back-and-forth between Chelsie, Cam, and Makensy, the houseguests decided to turn against Kimo, claiming he had a better chance at winning competitions later in the show. With two votes against him, Kimo was eventually eliminated from the Big Brother house.

Kimo's elimination divided the internet. While some fans took to X, upset with his exit, others celebrated his eviction. A user on X wrote:

"didn't watch the episode but very relived to see kimo was evicted THANK YOU GOD."
"Surprised Kimo got evicted. Thought he was staying. He seems like a lovely person. I'm so glad he got to live out his dream," a fan commented.
"rip kimo i'm so proud of u for making f5!!!<3," another fan commented.

Many Big Brother fans were sad to see Kimo leave. At the same time, they were surprised Cam and Chelsie turned against him despite considering him one of their potential allies.

"Aww Kimo!! Such a gentle soul. So glad I got to watch him on feeds. Unbothered theater king," one person commented.
"Funny, sweet, brilliant…I wish you had clocked in just a bit more bc when you played, you were IMPRESSIVE & it would have been incredible to see the first gay Native Hawaiian winner of BB. I'm devastated to see you go but you made your mark on the house!!! ILY KIMOOO," another fan wrote.
"Kimo evicted but Rubina staying, I'm a mix of emotions," a user tweeted.

On the contrary, many Big Brother fans were satisfied with the elimination results.

"FINALLY I WAITED ALL SEASON FOR KIMO TO LEAVE," a person reacted.
"Kimo FINALLY out the house. Very delightful person, but between the burps, slurping, smacking, shady comments undermining Tucker/Rubina's relationship, actions and inactions bc he was crushing on a straight man… I've been ready for him to leave since week 3," a netizen tweeted.
"I'm so relived Chelsie changed her mind and decided to get rid of Kimo bc the jury was praising him a little too much for my liking and a final 2 between them very well could've been a toss up," another netizen commented.

Big Brother star Kimo says he will be rooting for everyone

In the latest episode, Cam, Chelsie, and Makensy debated if Kimo would benefit their game. While Makensy was hell-bent on sending him home, Chelsie and Cam thought otherwise. While campaigning for herself, Rubina requested Chelsie and Makensy to keep her so the final three could be all women. Makensy was impressed by her proposal, but Chelsie was skeptical.

On the other hand, Kimo urged Cam to keep him. The Big Brother star was almost convinced that if Rubina left, Kimo would see him as his final two. However, while talking to Chelsie, Kimo positioned Makensy as a threat, offering himself as a shield to her. Both Cam and Chelsie agreed that it would be beneficial to keep Kimo over Rubina.

However, when the Big Brother HoH pointed out that Kimo was stronger in challenges, Cam and Chelsie eventually flipped. Both of them voted against Kimo, ending his journey on the show. Kimo became the fifth member to join the jury alongside Angela, Leah, T'Kor, and Quinn.

During his exit interview with host Julie Chen Moonves, the Big Brother evictee said it was a "tough choice either way."

"I am so happy that Rubina stayed and is able to continue on. I'm rooting for her, I'm rooting for everyone," Kimo said.

He was grateful for the experience and confessed Julie was "one of the first people" he could relate to on television. It was a "special" moment for him to interact with her. He thanked everyone and was excited to see who clinched the winner's title.

Big Brother season 26 airs Sundays and Thursdays only on CBS.
