The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On season 3 aired two new episodes, the season finale and the reunion, this week on Wednesday, December 18, 2024. Episode 9 saw Aria and Scotty get engaged, however, during the reunion special, the couple revealed they called off the engagement.

Although the two continued to date after the show, they eventually broke up as Aria revealed during the reunion special. Nick Lachey asked how long they were engaged after the show and Aria stated she had realized she made a "mistake" and ended the engagement the day after the proposal.

Fans of the Netflix reality show commented on Aria's reveal about calling off the engagement on social media. One person wrote on X:

In The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On season 3's reunion special, Aria and Scotty revealed what happened between them since the show ended. The female cast member admitted that she made an emotional decision when she said yes to Scotty's proposal in episode 9 and revealed that they called off the engagement the day after.

Aria said that she felt everything was "just too fast" and was apologetic about saying "Yes." She recalled asking Scotty if they could start over and do a "foundational thing."

"And he was very understanding, um, and I appreciated that so much," she said.

The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On season 3 cast member said she and Scotty moved in together but it "didn't pan out." She said their biggest issues continued and that they had "conflict."

Aria clarified that despite calling the engagement off, The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On season 3 couple continued dating and tried to "work through" their issues.

Scotty explained later in the episode that a lot of things had happened during the year after the show ended, which included Aria losing her grandmother and having a miscarriage. Aria explained that she didn't give up on their relationship because she didn't care but because she was "emotionally exhausted."

Scotty said he tried "so hard" to give Aria everything she wanted, including moving to San Francisco even though he didn't want to and getting them an apartment. Aria didn't want to discredit Scotty's efforts towards their relationship.

The hosts asked Zaina, Scotty's trial partner to chime in on Scotty and Aria's relationship. The female cast member said she felt like Aria didn't want to reject Scotty.

"I didn't want to reject him," Aria admitted.
