Love After Lockup released its latest episode on Friday, September 20, 2024. It featured the cast members navigating their lives outside of prison while attempting to steer clear of the law. However, despite wanting to start a new chapter, some struggled to achieve the desired results.
In a previous episode, Latisha discovered that the paralegal team on Keith's case allegedly scammed her into believing his sentence could be shortened by eight months. She was devastated to learn that inmates posing as paralegals duped her with fake changes in the law.
In the latest episode, Latisha broke the news to her daughters. Of the two, the youngest, Jakhira, was the most upset about being unable to meet Keith. She got emotional and cried in Latisha's arms. Love After Lockup fans took to X to criticize Latisha for upsetting her daughter. They blamed her for not protecting Jakhira's sentiments and letting her get emotionally connected to a convict.
"Latisha got this girl crying over a criminal and calling him daddy. That’s awful," a fan wrote.
"This baby doesn’t deserve the life Latisha is forcing on her. Not just the lies with Keith, all her scams and stealing and getting evicted are not good for her mental health," another fan commented.
"I hope this idiot realizes the damage she's done to her kids," a netizen tweeted.
Love After Lockup fans slammed Latisha for making decisions that negatively impacted her daughters' lives.
"I'm pissed about how she got this baby crying over some strange man not getting out of jail!!! Trifflin!!!!!!" a user reacted.
"She’s such a POS mom for getting her daughter emotionally invested into a jailbird man who’s NOT HER FATHER," a person commented.
"Latisha this is on you, you’re the one that decided to make your kids have a prison daddy. You know why it doesn’t affect your oldest daughter because she’s got more smarts than you do. Don’t lie to your kids you’re being evicted you liar," another fan wrote.
"I hate how concerned and emotional this child is about a stranger. Latisha didn’t protect that child at all," one netizen tweeted.
At the same time, Love After Lockup fans reacted to Latisha's eldest daughter, Nariyah, appearing unaffected by the news.
"The face you make when you tired of your mama BS that u been dealing with all your life, she should just go live with her dad sound like he is more mentally stable than Latisha," a user tweeted.
"Latisha’s oldest daughter is so unamused She don’t give a damn about that man," another person reacted.
Love After Lockup star Latisha knew the news about Keith would break her youngest daughter's heart
Latisha gathered her daughters, Jakhira and Nariyah, to inform them about Keith's release. Recalling how strongly her youngest daughter, Jakhira, was connected to him, Latisha knew the news would hurt her.
"I'm finna break my youngest daughter's heart telling her that Keith is not coming home anytime soon," Latisha said.
The Love After Lockup star revealed that Keith was there for her daughters in ways their biological father never was. He took on the role of a father and supported the family even from behind the bars. It prompted 6-year-old Jakhira to form an emotional connection with Keith.
Jakhira broke into tears when Latisha announced that Keith's homecoming was delayed. Although Latisha felt she failed to shield her kids from the "storm," she complained about Jakhira demanding to see Keith every morning. Meanwhile, Nariyah, who did not have a relationship with Keith, appeared unfazed by the news.
The Love After Lockup star then disclosed that they would be moving to a new house due to their ongoing dispute with their current one. Latisha encouraged her daughters saying, "We're a family, we gotta do this together." She hoped they could have a "fresh start" in a new environment.
Love After Lockup season 5 airs new episodes every Friday at 8 PM ET, only on We TV.
