Love is Blind UK has captivated viewers with its unique dating experiment to find love. Contestants are supposed to make emotional connections by having conversations through 'pods'. Once they make a connection, they get engaged and meet each other in person.
Tom and Maria, two contestants, have been the talk of Love is Blind UK. As soon as they started talking through the pods, it was clear that they were going to get along. They laughed a lot, talked about things they both believed in and seemed to have a strong emotional connection.

As Maria and Tom got used to living together after their honeymoon, they faced the truth of being a couple in the real world. During one of their conversations, a big disagreement came up by the end of episode 6 in Love is Blind UK.
Tom, who is a PR and advertising consultant said that a lot can be told about people by the work they do. So she asked what he thought about her when he heard that she worked as a makeup artist. She further asked if he had a low opinion of her because of her job. Tom said:
"Yeah, when I heard that, I did. I was a little bit judgmental when I first heard what you did. I can be a bit judgy at times."
Maria responded by saying, "It's horrible that he thought that way." He continued saying that one thing he stood by, which was a big value for him, was to work hard and be ambitious. He wanted to feel secure and when he thought about romantic compatibility, he wanted to have someone who shared similar values, like jobs.
He said it's the normal dealbreaker in relationships and asked if she agreed to it. She quickly responded "No." She continued saying:
"Relationships are about compromise, and if you go into this being judgemental, probably no point of being here at all."
In the confessional, Tom said that before this experiment in Love is Blind UK, he would have considered dating a makeup artist, but he would have some preconceptions about the person being concerned about their looks, maybe a bit shallow too.
Maria said in the confessional that she would not sit there and let anyone make her feel she was less because they thought her job was not adequate. And they didn't think she was intelligent enough for them. She expressed to him that she felt it was very judgmental of him to think that way, which in turn made her angry.
Tom heard Maria's hurt and angry words and understood that her job was a big part of who she was. She thought that his opinion hurt the mutual respect and understanding they had built up. Both of them were upset and didn't know how to move forward after this conversation in Love is Blind UK.
