Sister Wives aired its latest episode on Sunday, September 29, 2024. In one episode segment, Kody revealed that his and Robyn's youngest daughter, Ariella "Ari" Brown, disliked Christine because she left him. Despite stating that she did not know Christine well enough to dislike her, he admitted her words showed "loyalty."
Kody confessed he could see the pain Ari had to experience whenever he left her to distribute his time among the other wives and their children. Robyn admitted her daughter needed her father's attention but was not in the position to prevent him from meeting the other wives.
In a confessional video, Janelle mentioned that her children grew up knowing their father would not always be around. Consequently, they adjusted themselves to that lifestyle. However, while discussing Ari's needs and demands, Janelle pointed her finger at Kody and Robyn, claiming it was "poor parenting" from their side.
Sister Wives fans took to X to react to Ari's statement. They believed a young child would never know about her father's private matters unless he discussed them in front of her. They called out Kody and Robyn for feeding their children with information on their personal lives.
"Ari is the proof, Robyn and Kody talked about the others often, their kids saw the others as enemies. That wasn't right," a fan wrote.
"Ari learned how to speak like that from Robyn, didn’t she now?" another fan commented.
"Ari said she doesn’t like Christine and knows she left Kody? Gee I wonder where she got that from," a netizen tweeted.
Many Sister Wives fans criticized Kody and Robyn's parenting.
"I wonder if Kody and Robyn don’t talk about the other wives or kids how young Ari knows Christine left Daddy? Let’s all pretend Robyn isn’t filling their head with nonsense and creating this dynamic of us vs. then," a user reacted.
"Ari is an example why nurturing parents must keep kids out of grown folks business. Kids cant help but choose sides. Always talk privately to avoid kids hating on someone just to be loyal to you," one person commented.
"Ari should not be saying she hates Christine. That’s all robyn and kody filling her head with info," another fan wrote.
"Kody is sick!! Now Ari doesn’t like Christine because she left you? I can imagine the conversations had in front of her," a user tweeted.
At the same time, some Sister Wives fans claimed Kody used Ari's statement as a "scapegoat" to justify his treatment of the other wives.
"Is he trying to make Ari a scapegoat," another person reacted.
"Robyn is using Ari’s attachment to Kody as an excuse to why he couldn’t be active in the other homes," one netizen commented.
Sister Wives star Janelle disapproved of Kody and Robyn's parenting
In the latest episode, Kody confessed that the years spent bringing all his families together were "just difficult." In light of that, he recalled one of Ari's statements, where she confessed she disliked Christine. Although he claimed he tried to correct her, Ari said:
"Well, she left dad and I don't like her."
Kody said he understood her sentiments since it showed "loyalty." The Sister Wives star claimed that "loyalty" was developing among others in the family. He narrated an incident where he tried to leave the house to go to Janelle's, but Ari would not let him. He requested Robyn to "drag her" away, but Robyn refused, asking Kody to "take five" and let Ari express her feelings. Consequently, he could not leave her for longer periods.
Meanwhile, Janelle stated that she raised her children knowing their father would not have a permanent presence. She felt Kody and Robyn "mismanaged the situation with their children."
"I always felt like Kody and Robyn mismanaged the situation with their children. He couldn't be away for more than three or four days because Ari just gets so sad or whatever. I feel like that was poor parenting," Janelle said.
Although Robyn dismissed the idea that she prevented Kody from seeing his other wives, Janelle disagreed. Janelle confessed that Robyn brought a "separateness" with her. The Sister Wives star added that her children were always rebuked for opening Robyn's fridge.
Likewise, Christine opened up about her children's fractured relationship with Kody. They disliked going over to Robyn's because it frustrated them to see Kody and Robyn as "a couple." However, despite everything, Robyn revealed that she was "going through a lot of mourning," having lost her plural family.
