"They slayed" — The Voice fans react to Gail Bliss and Christina Eagle's Battles performance

Season 26 of The Voice released a brand-new episode on Monday, October 21, 2024. After four weeks of Blind Auditions, coaches Gwen Stefani, Snoop Dogg, Reba McEntire, and Michael Bublé each assembled their teams of 14 singers. What followed was the grueling Battles round.

In the Battles, two singers from the same team would compete against each other singing the same song chosen by their coach. Based on their performance, the mentor would decide which artist they wanted to take to the next rounds of the competition. The remaining coaches would have the choice to steal the singer not saved by their mentor.

In the first round, Gail Bliss and Christina Eagle from Team Snoop Dogg battled on Redneck Woman by Gretchen Wilson. Based on their performance, applauded by all, Snoop Dogg declared Christina the Battle's winner and bid farewell to Gail.

The Voice fans took to X to applaud the pair's performance.

"Force of Nature" — The Voice coach Reba McEntire compliments Christina Eagle

Christine and Gail went head-to-head in the latest episode of The Voice. They wowed the Coaches with their rendition of Gretchen Wilson's Redneck Woman. Their performance received a standing ovation from all four mentors, while the audience applauded and cheered for them.

23-year-old Christina and 61-year-old Gail came to The Voice through different paths. Christina got a single chair-turn from Snoop Dogg during the Blind Auditions, whereas Gail was chosen when the rapper used his Coach Replay Button.

Snoop Dogg paired the two together since he claimed their vocals would sound "best together." He urged them to find a personal connection to the song's lyrics and its message of flaunting one's genuine personality. Christina and Gail took the advice and gave a power-packed performance that made the coaches and audience get on their feet and dance while they sang.

Country legend Reba McEntire was mesmerized by their vocals. She complimented them for delivering an "entertaining" performance that "had Snoop dancin' up a storm." The Voice coach praised both of them, saying:

"Christina, you're a force of nature, your vocal was just really up there, and Gail you had more of a low-end going. You're almost like sisters singing up there, havin' fun, so...good luck there, Snoop."

Meanwhile, Gwen highlighted Christina as the Battle's winner, citing the singer's ability to steal the spotlight. She was surprised that Christina was not already signed to a professional label.

Finally, it was time for Snoop Dogg to announce his decision. He declared Christina Eagle the winner, stating she had more potential than her opponent. Since none of the coaches stepped up to steal Gail, her journey on The Voice ended.
