"This was kind of deserved"- Claim to Fame fans react to Miguel's elimination

Claim to Fame season 3 aired a brand new episode this week on Wednesday, July 24, 2024. The segment saw the cast compete in yet another challenge in hopes of receiving enough clues to uncover a contestant's celebrity relative's identity. However, much like the previous episodes of the season, another cast member was eliminated as they made the wrong guess and revealed their own celebrity relative instead.

Miguel, who was in the guessing seat in Wednesday's episode, attempted to eliminate Dedrick and guessed that his celebrity relative was Little Richard. Since his guess was wrong, Miguel was sent packing. It was revealed that the eliminated contestant's real name was Raphael Curtis and he was Jamie Lee Curtis's nephew.

Fans of the show took to social media to react to the segment and chimed in on the season 3 contestant's elimination. One person wrote on X:

Miguel aka Raphael talks Claim to Fame season 3 gameplay and elimination

Miguel aka Raphael was eliminated in Claim to Fame season 3 episode 3 after he incorrectly guessed Dedrick's celebrity relative as Little Richard. As a result, Miguel's celebrity relative was revealed to be the famed actress, Jamie Lee Curtis.

Dedrick was one of Miguel's closest allies in the ABC show and in the latest episode, the latter picked Dedrick to send home. Chiming in on the elimination while in conversation with People Magazine, the Claim to Fame season 3 contestant said that Dedrick's reaction was "a lot calmer" than he expected, although he was shocked that Miguel picked him.

"We both teamed up knowing this is a competition, this is a TV show, so the connection that we do have isn't going to get affected by the decisions we make because ultimately we have to make these decisions because it's part of the show," Dedrick explained.

Miguel aka Raphael added that Dedrick was "super cool" with it. He added that although Dedrick was shocked on camera, he was cool with his decision when the cameras went down.

The Claim to Fame season 3 contestant opened up about the support Jamie Lee Curtis provided him and his family with when they went through a "difficult family crisis."

Miguel said that a year before the show started filming, his mother faced a medical crisis and noted that it was "difficult" because it was sudden.

The cast member added that at the time, he had just turned 20 and was trying to figure things out on his own but his aunt's support was crucial during that period.

"So it was pretty stressful, but [she] definitely made it a lot easier to cope and manage and helped throughout every little aspect of it and definitely took care of things," Raphael said.

The Claim to Fame season 3 eliminated contestant also teased an unexpected finale and said that he and the other contestants who left the show would return to the ABC sets.
