The Real Housewives of Orange County released its latest episode on Thursday, October 17, 2024. The segment showed Jenn making a troubling discovery about Tamra. She found out from Shannon that Tamra had run a background check on her partner, Ryan while filming season 17 of the show.
Jenn immediately went to Tamra's to confront her about asking her friend's husband to run a background check on Ryan. Tamra dismissed the allegation stating she never paid for a check. She explained that she only asked her friend if Ryan was licensed as a mortgage broker. However, Jenn struggled to believe her because Shannon had shown her documents of evidence of the background check.
Tamra swore on her children's lives that she was neither lying nor hiding anything from Jenn. The Real Housewives of Orange County fans took to X to criticize Tamra for bringing up her children during the feud. They claimed it was wrong of her to swear on their lives when there was proof of her running a background check on Ryan.

After Jenn discovered from Shannon that Tamra ran a background check on Ryan in 2022, she went to meet Tamra. The female cast member became defensive when Jenn questioned her about it. While Jenn insisted that she was lying, Tamra continued to dismiss the allegation, proclaiming her innocence. She even swore on her children's lives to prove her point.

The Real Housewives of Orange County star soon confessed that "it was two years ago," but refused to call it a "background check." She explained that she asked a friend's husband if Ryan was a licensed mortgage broker. She allegedly stopped digging into his past after discovering that he was not.
Fans were unimpressed by Tamra's decision to swear on her children's lives because they believed she was lying, given Shannon had evidence to counter her pleas of innocence. It led netizens to revisit Tamra's troubled relationship with her children, especially with her eldest daughter Sidney, who left Tamra's side after her divorce from ex-husband Simon Barney.
She reportedly chose to sever ties with her mother, blaming her for ruining her and her father's lives. In a September 2, 2024, episode of My Friend, My Soulmate, My Podcast, co-star Vicki Gunvalson revealed that Tamra had made no efforts to reconcile with her estranged daughter.
