"The stability, strength and presence of Chock will be something the family truly needs right now and will be key in all of them getting through this horrific time," a person wrote.

Chock briefly leaves The Golden Bachelorette after learning of his mother's demise
In The Golden Bachelorette season 1 episode 4, Chock opened up to Joan about his mother's illness. Soon after, the cast member received the news of her passing and had to leave the show.
He told the ABC suitors that his mother had been ill with stage 4 cancer and that she passed away. He added that she was a "great woman" and a "great mother" and that he couldn't have asked for a "better mother." He said they knew it was coming but it didn't make it easier.
As the The Golden Bachelorette cast member got ready, Joan reached the mansion and Chock informed her of his decision to leave. The frontrunner told him that he had to honor his mother and take care of his family. She told him one of the reasons she cared about him was because he was a "caregiver" and that she knew he wouldn't feel good unless he was "giving care."
Chock later returned to the ABC dating show. Joan expressed gratitude about the cast member's return and said she felt "safe again."
Fans reacted to the segment online and felt that Joan and Chock were the "end game."
