"This is so messy"— The Bachelorette fans chime in on Jenn, Thomas N. and Devin drama

The Bachelorette season 21 aired a brand new episode on Monday, July 15, 2024, on ABC. During this segment, Jenn Tran's journey as the first Asian-American bachelorette continued as she spent more time with her suitors and got to know some of them better.

However, things got heated between several cast members already as Aaron and Devin got into an argument, and to make matters worse, Thomas N. also got involved in the argument after the fact.

Aaron was unhappy that Devin pulled Jenn away during the first group date and claimed he "crossed the line." This led to a confrontation between the two men later in the episode, but the issue didn't get resolved as Aaron was once again interrupted by Devin.

At the cocktail party, Thomas N., who wasn't even a part of the first group date, told Jenn he needed to talk to Devin and left the frontrunner sitting alone for almost 10 minutes. However, the interruption didn't sit well with Jenn, who later slammed Thomas for his behavior.

Fans of the show took to social media to react to the segment and termed it "messy." They wondered if the season 21 suitor was there for Jenn or "for the drama." One person wrote on X:

In The Bachelorette season 21 episode 2, some of the suitors were at odds and let Jenn Tran know about it. During the first group date, Aaron and Devin got into a conflict when the latter pulled her away during the date to spend time with her alone.

At the afterparty, Aaron confronted Devin about the same and told The Bachelorette season 21 contestant that he wasn't "ready for someone like Jenn." Devin retaliated by stating he didn't see Aaron "take charge" and added that he didn't think Jenn would like to be with someone who would "sit around" and focus on what others were doing. The conversation didn't mark the end of the argument, and Devin interrupted Aaron's one-on-one time with Jenn by bringing her ice cream.

Seeing their behavior, Jenn said:

"We're not going to fight out here."

The confrontation continued while Jenn was on the second group date and spilled over at the cocktail party as Devin pulled her away for a chat, which wasn't what the cast had discussed previously. Collectively, the cast members decided that the men from the second group date would talk to her first.

As Devin and Jenn spoke, Thomas N. interrupted the two to talk to Devin.

"You sat in front of me and eight men yesterday and said, 'Hey, hey, you guys get first," Thomas said.

Later in the episode, when it was Thomas' turn to spend time with Jenn, she asked him why he thought it was necessary to interrupt her conversation with Devin. When he explained the situation, Jenn said:

"Then you guys are making decisions for me. You’re taking my independence out of that, and I don’t really think that’s in your power."

After the episode aired, fans of the show chimed in on the situation online and criticized Thomas N. and several other male cast members of The Bachelorette.
