Netflix's popular reality show, Selling Sunset season 8 aired all 11 episodes this week on Friday, September 6, 2024. The installment saw members of the Oppenheim Group deal with personal and professional differences while trying to be the top broker at the brokerage.
One of the most talked about storylines this season was Chelsea and Bre's feud, fueled by information provided to the latter by her friend, Amanda. The cast member's friend shared information about Chelsea's husband's alleged affair with Bre, who broke the news to Chelsea.
While Bre initially claimed Amanda was just a friend, in episode 11, she brought her to the brokerage in hopes of getting her a job. The reality show's fans took to social media to criticize Bre. They felt Bre's involvement in trying to secure Amanda's place at the Oppenheim group proved she wanted to go after Chelsea. One person wrote on X:
"So Bre went from claiming that she doesn’t really know this girl and they’re just kinda so so friends to now she’s trying to get her a job in the office and take Chelsea’s spot. Mind you, all she’s sold is a patch of dirt. This is ridiculous."
"The fact that Bre started by saying Amanda isn’t a close friend to then try and coax her into the office at the end of the season to spite Chelsea says everything about who she is tbh," a fan commented.
"Bre's intentions definitely showed themself by bringing Amanda in for an interview . She definitely did what they think she did. She is totally out to get Chelsea. And then Amanda sitting in Chelsea's chair, like they trying to push Chelsea out of the office," a tweet read.
Selling Sunset season 8 fans stated that Bre "manipulated" the storyline of telling Chelsea about Jeff's alleged affair with "good intent":
"Bre’s actions doesn’t even make you want to trust her, cause bringing Amanda to the office then allowing her to sit in Chelsea’s sit like it’s hers is mad disrespectful" a person wrote.
"Bre 110% knew what she was doing bringing Amanda on camera and telling that woman’s business. Phone call was definitely fake. Even them going into the office and her propping her shoes up on Chelsea’s desk was all I needed to know," a fan commented.
"Hmmm, Bre is complicit and her trying to bring Amanda on to Oppenheim Group to get even speaks volumes. She knew exactly what she was doing and was hoping to get away with it or at least divide the trio & take Chelsea down a notch," a tweet read.
Selling Sunset season 8 fans further said:
"If Netflix hires this Amanda girl to be a cast member on this show next season, I'm gonna be pissed. We don't need that energy. Why was she putting her a** and legs on Chelsea's desk?? She's disrespectful," a person wrote.
"Let's see if Jason will chose not to add Amanda to the group to protect Chelsea because Amanda is racist, or is he only allowed to bend backwards for Bre?," a fan commented.
Selling Sunset season 8: Bre brings Amanda to the brokerage
In the Selling Sunset season 8 finale episode, Bre and Amanda made their way to the Oppenheim Group's office where Bre introduced her friend to Amanda. Bre explained that she and Amanda were at lunch and decided to stop by.
Bre told the Selling Sunset cast member that she believed Amanda would be "perfect" for their office. She hoped she could introduce Amanda to Jason. The friend of the cast member explained that she recently started her own company but was "open to things."
While Bre showed Amanda the office, she came across Chelsea's desk. Amanda sat on Chelsea's desk and Bre asked her whether she liked it. She further said it was "more" her "speed."
"I feel — I feel right at home here," Amanda said.
Seeing Amanda sit in Chelsea's chair, the Selling Sunset season 8 star said she was a "much better view." In a confessional, Bre added that Emma and Chelsea would "lose their ever-loving sh*t" if Amanda joined the "O Group."
Selling Sunset season 8 fans chimed in on the situation online and were upset by Bre's behavior. They stated that it made it seem like Bre intentionally told Chelsea about her husband's alleged affair on camera to get back at her.
