“This is rigged”—Love Island Australia fans react to Sophie and Zane’s connection before the show

After Love Island UK ended on a bittersweet note in July, fans were eager for Love Island Australia, which finally premiered on October 28 on 9Now. The latest series introduced the viewers to a new group of islanders who came to the Spanish villa to find the kind of love that would last up until the end and win the AUD 50,000 winning prize.

In Love Island Australia episode 4 that aired on October 31, a new contestant named Sophie Mills entered the villa. Sophie was the second person to enter the villa after Taylor made his way into the season in its very first episode.

The twist to Sophie's entry was that she already knew one of the contestants, Zane, even before the show. It was revealed that the two had been intimate about 2 months before the filming started. Zane was paired with Xanthe, but after watching the episode, fans thought hat the arrival of Sophie would shake things up. They came to X to comment on the same.

"Sophie (the upcoming bombshell) and Zane had been liking each other's ig posts from May to June. Filming started in August. Istg, if they choose to couple up next, this is rigged," said one fan.

Some fans of Love Island Australia thought Sophie's connection to Zane was a threat to Xanthe's connection with him.

"I hope Zane does not break Xanthe's heart, he looks like someone who is waiting for Sophie to be in the villa I hope I am wrong though," wrote one X user.

According to her bio on 9Now, Sophie Mills is from Queensland. She is a 22-year-old enrolled nurse. Her type is that of athletes and she is friends with a lot of NRL players.

When she entered the Love Island Australia villa, the guys were blindfolded and Sophie had the chance to kiss each one of them, as the other women of the villa watched from a distance.

This included Zane, her fling from a few months ago. While kissing him blindfolded, she whispered "Did you miss this?" but then chose to take Niko on a date, threatening Hannah's position in the game.
