"This self sabotage is crazy"— Love is Blind: Germany fans slam Hanni flirting with Illais to make Daniel jealous 

Netflix's Love is Blind: Germany aired its first four episodes on January 3, 2025. It became the latest edition of the popular Love is Blind franchise, featuring a group of 30 singles. While in the pods, the participants spoke to several suitors before zeroing in on who they could become their life partners. A total of five couples got engaged while in the pods and set off on their honeymoon, which took place in Greece.

However, episode 4 saw the cast get together for the first time since their time in the pods and many people came face to face with their former flames. This included Hanni and Ilias who got engaged to Daniel and Alina respectively.

Fans of the Netflix reality show commented on Ilias and Hanni's face-to-face conversation while the cast was in Greece and felt it was disrespectful to their fiancés. One person wrote on X:

"Hanni has a beautiful and patient fiancé. Why is she trying to make Daniel jealous with generic looking dude with a bad personality? Girl you can’t be serious ? this self sabotage is crazy."

"If Hanni really gonna flirt with generic looking a** Illias when Daniel is right there then yes, love is blind. And she should change her name to Stevie Wonder because wtf," a fan commented.

"Oh Hanni, what are you doing flirting with that man? You man is 10x better now," a tweet read.

Fans of Love is Blind: Germany felt the cast members' behavior was disrespectful to their partners:

"Hanni and Ilias are being mad disrespectful to their new fiances flirting with each other at the honeymoon meetup. I hate when people do this every single season," a person wrote.

"Hanni should’ve pulled a Laura Harrier and called Ilias a “weirdo” the minute he made fun of his fiancée’s looks to make her laugh. I guess male validation is important to her :/," a fan commented.

"I was soo mad like why is she entertaining that man??? And he is not even that funny?? Please don’t piss me off and go back to Daniel," a tweet read.

Fans of Love is Blind: Germany further said:

"Hanni, what are you doing flirting with Ilias?" a person wrote.

"Ep 4; Daniel doesn’t look like he tolerates BS. Hanni needs to be careful playing these “jealous testing games”. Smh," a fan commented.

"We had a really, really good time"— Illias talks to Hanni about their time in the pods in Love is Blind: Germany episode 4

In Love is Blind: Germany episode 4, titled, Trouble in Paradise, the cast gathered for their first group event in Greece and came face-to-face with their former flames.

Hanni and Illais, who briefly connected in the pods before getting engaged to other people, discussed their time on the Netflix show. While in a group setting, Hanni asked Illais if he pictured her the way she was and he said "Not exactly." Tolga asked about their history and Illais said he was the "side chick" in Hanni's love story.

"I wasn't enough for more," he added.

Later in the episode, the two had a private conversation and Hanni told the cameras that she hadn't tested Daniel about jealousy yet. She added that she was "curious" about his reaction to the cast meeting.

When Illais asked the Love is Blind: Germany star if she had nice dates, Hanni laughed and asked to see the male participant's tattoos. Illais asked if he ever told her he had a "partner" tattoo and Hanni replied that they had never discussed this topic. She said there was so much she wanted to know that they could sit there for "three hours."

"I'd be lying if I said I wasn't happy to see Hanni today. With her, I feel like we communicate with our eyes," Illais told the cameras.

The Love is Blind: Germany star told her that he knew she would be good-looking and after sharing a laugh, Hanni said they would be "confronted" with questions after their conversation. He said being honest was part of the experiment.

"Oh man. We had a really, really good time. And so, of course, you wonder what might have happened," he said.

Hanni mentioned that she could be open with Illais and she liked his personality. Meanwhile, Illais told the cameras that he would be lying if he said there was nothing between him and Hanni. He added that the "truth" wasn't always pleasant for everyone.

Fans of Love is Blind: Germany commented on the cast member's conversation online and criticized Hanni for trying to make Daniel jealous.
