The Challenge 40: Battle of the Eras episode 3 disclosed that one of the contestants to be eliminated from the show was Jodi Weatherton. In the Wednesday, August 28, 2024 episode all four eras teamed up together to compete in a task to save themselves from elimination.

Unfortunately, Jodi's team, Era 1, represented by her and Darrell lost which meant they were sent for another elimination challenge. Another team selected by the majority of players was Era 3, to compete against Jodi and Darrell from Era 1.

Era 3 representatives were Averey and Tony who were up against their rivals in an individual challenge. For the elimination task, Averey and Jodi competed, they had to run as fast as they could, carry the heavy tiles, and build a color-coordinated pathway for themselves.

Tony and Darrell had to do the same. By the end of the challenge, it was revealed that Jodi alongside Tony was eliminated from The Challenge 40: Battle of the Eras. In a recent interview with Parade on August 28, 2024, Jodi Weatherton opened up about her experience returning to the hit franchise.

She explained the main reason why she couldn't complete the task on time. Referring to the elimination task, Jodi revealed she could've done a "better job" if she was aware of how to manage her anxiety. Jodi further mentioned:

"I was too busy being in my head and trying to rely on my team for help when I couldn't even hear them. So I just think I can do a better job, maybe, of figuring out how to get that anxiety under control for myself."

The Challenge 40: Battle of the Eras star Jodi Weatherton opens up about her elimination

In her interview, The Challenge 40: Battle of the Eras star Jodi Weatherton shared that she didn't know how the "leader thing" would work in the task. According to Jodi, the major twist was each era's representatives being at risk of elimination.

However, she did feel it was a good opportunity for her to prove she was a valuable player to her fellow teammates. Jodi explained:

"I also didn't know how the game was going to progress, that we're going to do this whole leader thing. And so then I felt like I needed that reassurance to move forward and feel confident in our dynamic. I had no idea."

She also shared the initial anxiety she felt while competing in the final task. For Jodi, it was risky and scary to think that one wrong move could send her home. She mentioned that the "mental component" of the entire situation contributed to the physical aspect of the challenge as well.

She was struggling to stay in the present and maintain her focus on the game, due to her anxiety. The Challenge 40: Battle of the Eras star further stated:

"For eliminations, I do get that anxiety because it's so final. You lose; you go home. And so especially with something that feels very much like a test like this one did. It's not just a physical thing; there's a mental component as well."
