The Mole season 2 released its last two episodes on Friday, July 12. Episode 9 started with six players: Ryan, Hannah, Deanna, Sean, Muna, and Michael. However, after two shocking elimination quizzes, Ryan, Deanna, and Hannah were eliminated from the competition, allowing Sean, Michael, and Muna to advance to the final.

In episode 10, the players participated in one last mission where they had to cross a "minefield" without activating any mines. Muna crossed her zone successfully, earning $25,000 for the pot prize. However, when Sean prompted her to take the wrong step, she immediately knew he was the mole.

At the finale, Sean stepped forward and unmasked himself as the saboteur. Meanwhile, Michael beat Muna and won the coveted winner's title, walking away with $154,000. The Mole fans were suspicious of Sean's intentions and were not surprised when he unveiled himself. Netizens took to X (formerly Twitter) to express their reactions.

"Sean was too obvious. I had to remove him from my top suspect list. He played a good game #TheMole #themoleseason2 #themolenetflix," wrote a netizen.
"Wait didn't you all know it was sean all along or am I just good at spotting his fakeness?? #TheMole," another netizen commented.
"A blind man could see that Sean was #TheMole," one fan tweeted.

Fans of the Netflix show were unimpressed by the revelation since they had predicted the saboteur's identity. They felt Sean's gameplay was underwhelming, as they could see through his strategies.

"sean is so bad at acting, it is so easy to know when he is saying something just to look innocent #themole," one fan wrote.
"Sean was very obvious. Michael caught him really bad that why Michael won #TheMole," another fan wrote.
"Sry but if u didn't clock Sean as the mole on ep 4 were u even paying attention. He spent the entire episode saying he was sabotaging to trick Michael into thinking he was the mole. Then proceeded to say he believed Michael was the mole. That makes absolutely no sense. #TheMole," a person tweeted.
"The "producers" of #TheMole should probably think twice before selecting another Mole with an IMDB full of acting credits like Sean. Knew he was the Mole from the jump because of that," one fan wrote.

However, some fans were surprised when Sean identified himself as the saboteur.

"Sean being #TheMole was wack though he wasn't as obvious as Michael or chill as Muna. IDK still didn't think it was him," a person commented.
"I really thought Michael was the mole since the first episode but production shocked me that Sean was the real mole. Good job, but a cop, I should have known #themole #themolenetflix," one netizen tweeted.

In the season finale, Sean revealed his profession besides being a stay-at-home dad. His fellow cast members were taken aback when they learned he worked as an undercover narcotics investigator alongside the DEA for eight and a half years of his career.

He was trained to build "rapport with people," analyze their behavioral tendencies, and use their weaknesses against them. Sean stated that he came prepared, wanting to utilize his critical skills in the game. He tried to be as "covert" as possible but mentioned that the players' strategies and game plans troubled him, causing him to rethink his moves repeatedly.

The cast members then looked at all the sabotages Sean performed during the missions to send the players "home broke." Sean kept cutting the knots in the treasure hunt challenge to prevent the raft from staying afloat. He also pretended to be afraid of heights in the heist challenge, when in reality he was skilled enough to tackle such missions.

Fellow co-stars were surprised to see Sean swap a guest's picture during the gala event to sabotage the service. Playing the role of the saboteur thrilled Sean, and he felt he was on the "longest drug bust" of his life.

"You get butterflies in your stomach because I'm the only one playing a real role," said Sean.

Sean confessed he tried all the "last-minute sabotages" to ruin the contestants' chances at earning money in the last mission. However, he commended the players for their smart play, winning challenges despite facing the obstacles he created.

"Sean played the best "useless dad" in the entire world," said Hannah.

The other players chimed in on how cleverly he had everyone fooled.
