Big Brother season 26 aired a brand new episode this week on Thursday, September 12, 2024. The segment saw the cast decide who between Kimo and Quinn, they wanted to evict from the house.
Kimo received two votes, while Quinn received four and was evicted from the game. However, he was still a part of the CBS show as he became the first Jury member of season 26.
Ahead of his eviction, as seen on Live Feeds available on Paramount+, fans saw the cast member adopt a unique way to campaign for his safety in the house. Quinn went around with a jar, asking for "spare votes" to save himself from elimination.
Fans of the reality show took to social media to react to Quinn's gameplay. While some felt the act was unique and fun, others felt it annoyed some cast members. One person wrote on X:
"Quinn’s campaign is top tier I have to give him that."
"Btw the fact that they didn't show "spare votes?" is so f*cking rude bc I was cackling like a disney witch watching Quinn campaign," a fan commented.
"Kimo didn’t campaign. Quinn put his heart out there. He was gimmicky but authentic. Sweet guy. Taking the trio out clearly made too much sense," a tweet read.
Big Brother season 26 fans felt Chelsie didn't like Quinn's approach.
"no offense but Quinn spent yesterday alternating between doing his spare votes bit & hanging out with Leah, people seemed annoyed at the little campaigning he did do so I doubt it," a person wrote.
"Chelsie doesn’t like that Quinn went around asking for spare votes for the bit," a fan commented.
"chelsie miserable as h*ll why is Quinn joking about spare votes not good for him?" a tweet read.
Big Brother season 26 fans also said that the situation was "ridiculous" and that Quinn should stay because he was "actually playing."
"This is ridiculous. Quinn should stay because he’s actually playing. Even the “Spare Votes” bit was still about gameplay and showed that he cared and wanted to stay. Kimo only seems to care about doing fun things for the feeds and not playing the game of Big Brother," a person wrote.
"Quinn has dressed up as a homeless man. Spare votes to stay please! I got laid off. I was put up on the block for some reason! Quinn comes in asking for "sympathy votes" this time," a fan commented.
Big Brother season 26 contestant Quinn Martin's spare vote campaign explored
In Big Brother season 26 week 8, Quinn Martin, one of the contestants who was on the chopping block, pretended to be poor and asked for "spare votes." He walked around in a hat, and a purple jumpsuit and used an orange bandage and a stick to make a bindle.
"Spare votes to stay, please," he said.
The Big Brother season 26 contestant said he was just a man on the block with "no other option. Angela appreciated his efforts and gave him a spare vote. He said that was one, and he wanted 19 more. He approached T'Kor next, who gave him two. He approached Leah Peters and got her spare vote next.
He moved around the house as he had to keep working. He said the job never finished for people like him.
"Had goals and aspirations, once on the block. Hate to see it, what a fall folks," he added.
Quinn finished 9th in season 26 and became the first Jury member. He spent 59 days in the house and was nominated a total of three times. He won HoH two times and was a part of multiple alliances, including The Andersons, The Collective, The Pentagon, The Snoots, and The Visionaries.
Fans loved how Quinn campaigned for his safety, and they liked that a houseguest was doing something unique.
Big Brother season 26 airs episodes on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays on CBS.
