"Tough journey"— The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' PK Kemsley reacts to Dorit calling him a "full-blown" alcoholic

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 14 star Dorit Kemsley opened up about her and PK Kemsley's relationship during the show. In the season premiere of the Bravo reality show, news of the couple's separation was announced and Dorit discussed her dynamics with her estranged husband while in a conversation with Kathy Hilton.

Dorit called PK an alcoholic during the episode and also revealed that the split was his decision. PK has since then shared his side of the story. During an episode of Bravo's Hot Mic podcast on December 24, 2024, the cast member said he was shocked and disappointed by Dorit's description of him.

He called his addiction a "cunny" illness and said that he had been tough to battle it.

"A very emotional, tough journey, the toughest one I've really taken," he said.

PK Kemsley recently appeared on Bravo's Hot Mic podcast where he reacted to claims made by his estranged wife, Dorit Kemsley about his alcoholism. He said that he would be 12 months sober in 2 weeks and was "completely clear."

He said that he was public about his recovery and sobriety to inspire people. He added that nobody could do it on their own and needed support.

"I'm really proud and public about my sobriety," PK said.

Chiming in on alcoholism and age, PK said that it was "one of those things" that got worse with age. He further said that Dorit's "lack of understanding" wasn't her fault.

"She hasn't invested in it," he said.

The Bravo celebrity further said that his estranged wife, Dorit hadn't "worked a program" and had not done what he had. He further said there was no "fully blown alcoholic" and people were either alcoholics or they were not.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 14 star also commented on Dorit's description of what led them to split up and said her claims were inaccurate. He added that while his alcoholism played a part, it was just a "component." He mentioned that it was a symptom and not a cause.

He also shed light on Dorit, claiming she stood by her estranged husband through bankruptcies, debts, and more. He said that he was bankrupt and had gambling debts before he met The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 14 star. PK further said that he had recovered from that since and that it was "difficult to watch" Dorit talk about the "darkest times" of his life.

He added that in his perspective, she was "emotionally distraught," and unhappy, and that the segment was filmed at a "really unhappy time."

In May 2024, the couple took to Instagram to release a joint statement regarding their relationship status. In a post that has since been deleted, the two addressed speculation about their marriage and said that the two were continuing to work through their struggles.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Hills couple wrote that they were taking time apart to "safeguard" their friendship and maintain a "harmonious environment" for their children. The two noted that they were going to prioritize their children and appreciated their fans' love and support while they worked through their issues.

RHOBH season 14 saw the two announce their separation on screen as the Instagram post was featured in episode 1. Earlier in the episode, Dorit spoke to Erika about her and PK's issues as she revealed the split to her before the post went public.
